Reading books, is one of the most essential ways of improving our abilities, knowledge and skills for a positive change in our life. But only few people read book as advised by their teachers,parents or teachers and make mistakes while reading books that limit their improvement opportunities.

The first mistake made by the readers is that they read too fast and this makes them unable to understand the book. They do not give time to comprehend what they have read, because they are busy with finishing the book in a short period of time. This cannot be good for your mind and it will affect your memory as well.

The second mistake made by the students while reading books is that they take their books home with them and start reading them again after some time, which can prove to be fatal for them as well because they do not give proper time to comprehend what they have read, which may result in increasing their stress levels and their concentration levels will also be affected due to which they may fail in their exams or assignments because of poor concentration levels and poor memory retention abilities.
Reading a book is an art. It requires you to pay attention to every word, every page and every line.

Skipping the boring parts:
There are some parts in books that are just not interesting at all, but they are necessary for understanding the whole story. You should always read these parts too, even if they seem boring at first glance. By doing this, you will make sure that you understand everything that happens in the book as a whole, and not just as separate chapters.
Not taking notes while reading:
When you read a book, take notes on what interests you the most: characters, settings or themes of the story; remember these things and then go back to them when you read again later on; this will help you understand what made those aspects so important for the author's work!
