Hello hello, #HiveBookClub people, how are you? Today I just finished reading this wonderful gem that is part of the Harry Potter universe. My sister and I are very adept at the fandom and a few years ago I gave this book to her, but between one thing and another I had never had time to read it until now, and the truth is that I was amazed with everything I found.
¡Hola hola, gente de #HiveBookClub! ¿Cómo están? Hoy acabo de leer esta joya maravillosa que forma parte del universo de Harry Potter. Mi hermana y yo somos muy adeptas al fandom y hace algunos años yo le regalé este libro a ella, pero entre una cosa y otra yo nunca había tenido tiempo de leerlo hasta ahora, y la verdad es que quedé maravillada con todo lo que encontré.
It is not a particular book like the Harry Potter novels, it does not maintain a conventional structure and much less linear, it is an "imitation" (to call it somehow) of a school textbook, one of those that they ask you at school to study a subject, in this case Care of Magical Creatures, which they study at Hogwarts from the 3rd year. The funniest thing is that J.K Rowling wrote the book under a pseudonym, Newt Scamander, who is supposed to be a great magizoologist, something like the Steve Irwin of the magical world 🤣 and basically it is a kind of guide to recognize magical animals and creatures.
No es un libro particular como las novelas de Harry Potter, no mantiene una estructura convencional y mucho menos lineal, se trata de una "imitación" (por llamarlo de alguna manera) de un libro de texto escolar, de esos que te piden en la escuela para estudiar alguna asignatura, en este caso Cuidado de Criaturas Mágicas, la cuál estudian en Hogwarts a partir del 3er curso. Lo más divertido es que J.K Rowling escribió el libro bajo un seudónimo, Newt Scamander, quien se supone es un gran magizoologo, algo así como el Steve Irwin del mundo mágico 🤣 y básicamente es una especie de guía para reconocer a los animales y criaturas mágicas.
It is a kind of encyclopedia of only 59 pages, so it reads very fast, and it is also the most fun textbook ever 😄 because it gives you a broader context of the magical world, in this case focused on the fauna, it even contains a table that determines (according to the number of X's each species has) how dangerous they are. Besides, this book is not just any book, it belongs to Harry Potter and they let you know so on the cover of one of the editions. On the other hand, I also find it very funny that they have added annotations made by Harry and Ron, because this way the experience of reading the book is much more immersive, as if you were really reading a Harry Potter book, and also lets you know how his handwriting and his friend Ronald Weasley's were 🤗
Es una especie de enciclopedia de solo 59 páginas, así que se lee muy rápido, y además es el libro de texto más divertido de la historia 😄 porque te ofrece un contexto más amplio del mundo mágico, en este caso enfocado a la fauna, incluso contiene una tabla que determina (según el número de X que tenga cada especie) que tan peligrosos son. Además, este libro no es cualquiera, pertenece a Harry Potter y así te lo hacen saber en la portada de una de las ediciones. Por otra parte también me parece muy divertido que hayan añadido anotaciones hechas por Harry y Ron, ya que de esta manera la experiencia de leer ele libro es mucho más inmersiva, como si realmente estuvieses leyendo un libro de de Harry Potter, además te permite conocer como eran su letra y la de su amigo Ronald Weasley 🤗
It's an excellent book to pass the time and enjoy, but if you're a Harry Potter fan obviously the experience becomes even more immersive and you enjoy it to the fullest because it makes you feel like part of his literary universe. The prologue is supposedly written by Albus Dumbledore himself 😊 and also, best of all, the money raised from the royalties of this book goes to a charity organization "Comic Relief".
Es un excelente libro para pasar el rato y disfrutar, pero si eres fan de Harry Potter obviamente que la experiencia se hace aún más inmersiva y la disfrutas al máximo porque te hace sentir como parte de su universo literario. El prólogo supuestamente está escrito por el mismísimo Albus Dumbledore en persona 😊 y además, lo mejor de todo es que el dinero recaudado en las regalías de este libro van destinadas a una organización benéfica "Comic Relief"
