Today I bring you another book from the wonderful Harry Potter universe, which is mentioned in the series' books, since it is a textbook that students often use to learn about Quidditch moves and flying broomsticks, so it is very useful for fans of this sport 😃.
Hoy traigo un libro más perteneciente al maravilloso universo de Harry Potter, el cuál es mencionado dentro de los libros de la saga, ya que se trata de un libro de texto con el que los estudiantes a menudo aprenden sobre jugadas de quidditch y escobas voladoras, así que resulta muy útil para los amantes de este deporte 😃.
Something that I find super original about J.K. Rowling, the author of this and all the books in the Harry Potter saga, is that her narrative is not only creative but immersive, her descriptions are so precise that it makes you believe that the entire magical universe is real, in fact one of her methods is to write these textbooks under a pseudonym, but not just any pseudonym, she actually assumes the personality of someone else, in this case, a certain Kennilworthy Whisp, who is a Quidditch expert and a die-hard fan of the sport, so the book is basically a compilation of his studies regarding the sport (history and evolution through the ages).
Algo que me parece super original de J,K Rowling, la autora de este y todos los libros de la saga Harry Potter, es que su narrativa no solo es creativa sino inmersiva, sus descripciones son tan precisas que te hace creer que todo ese universo mágico es real, de hecho uno de sus métodos es escribir estos libros de texto bajo un pseudónimo, pero no cualquiera, sino que asume realmente la personalidad de alguien más, en este caso, un tal Kennilworthy Whisp, quien es experto en Quidditch y fanático empedernido del deporte, así que el libro básicamente es una recopilación de sus estudios respecto al deporte (historia y evolución a través de los tiempos).

De hecho hay un capítulo muy interesante que habla acerca de como los magos y brujas se fabricaban sus propias escobas durante la edad media, pero estas eran muy precarias y carecían de los complejos encantamientos que tienen hoy en día para acelerar o frenar, así como un diseño ergonómico que garantizara estabilidad y velocidad

Something I really loved about the book 😍 is when it tells the story of the evolution of the Golden Snitch ball, which in the early days of Quidditch was an extremely difficult bird to catch, but they had to stop using it for that purpose after protests from a witch who fought for animal rights. In the same way, it explains step by step and in detail the evolution of the Quidditch pitch with all its elements such as the posts and hoops, these were previously made in a different way and with different materials. All these details have made Quidditch a real sport that is played today among fanatics of the fandom, although in a different way, obviously without flying broomsticks or complex charms, it is called "Muggle Quidditch" (I invite you to investigate on the internet because it is very interesting)
Algo que me super encantó del libro 😍 es cuando narra la evolución de la pelota Snitch dorada, la cuál en los inicios del Quidditch se trataba de un pájaro extremadamente difícil de alcanzar, pero tuvieron que dejar de usarlo con este fin luego de las protestas de una bruja que luchaba por los derechos de los animales. De la misma manera se explica paso por paso y con detenimiento la evolución del campo de Quidditch con todos sus elementos como los postes y los aros, estos antes estaban hechos de otra forma y con distintos materiales. Todos estos detalles han hecho del Quidditch un deporte real que hoy en día se juega entre los fanáticos del fandom, aunque de una forma distinta, obviamente sin escobas voladoras ni complejos encantamientos, se llama "Quidditch muggle" (los invito a investigar en internet porque es muy interesante)
Although it doesn't have the funny notes from Ron and Harry that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them does, the book is full of fun facts and humor, making it a very entertaining and enjoyable read. But the best part is that the goal of this book goes far beyond just entertaining the reader; its main objective is to help a charity called Comic Relief.
Aunque no tiene las anotaciones graciosas de Ron y Harry que sí tiene Animales Fantásticos y Dónde encontrarlos, el libro está lleno de datos curiosos y humor, lo cuál hace que la lectura sea muy entretenida y amena. Pero lo mejor de todo es que el objetivo de este libro va mucho más allá que la diversión del lector, su principal objetivo es ayudar a una organización benéfica llamada Comic Relief
