If you are someone who believes so much in the power of God to heal the sick or you want to understand how healing works through the Holy Spirit, then The Healing Anointing by Kenneth E. Hagin is a book you should read. I read this book several months ago and I must say that it actually opened my eyes to so many things about healing that I didn’t understand before.
When reading the book, one of the things I noticed was the fact that the book talks about the healing power of God and how it works in our lives. Many people especially believers did not even know how the healing power of God works. Kenneth E. Hagin explains what the "healing anointing" is, where it comes from, and how it can flow through people to heal others.
Not only that, hee also talks about his personal experiences with healing and how God called him into the healing ministry which I really love so much. The fact that he backed the knowledge he was sharing with real life experience up. When reading the book, one of the main point of the book is that healing is real, and it is available to anyone who believes.
The book is based on the Bible, and Hagin uses scriptures to support everything he teaches. One of the main scriptures he uses is Acts 10:38: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” From this scripture, Hagin explains that healing is part of God’s goodness, and it is for everyone. This also opened my eyes to see that healing is not only for believers but for everyone.
For me personally, I will say reading this particular book taught me that there are two main ways people can be healed. The first is by faith which is believing God’s Word and receiving healing directly. The second way is through the healing anointing when someone who is anointed lays hands on the sick and they get healed. The second way is what a whole lot of people did not really understand.
When I was reading the book, the author Kenneth Hagin said that not everyone is called to the healing ministry, but every believer can pray for the sick. However, some people are specially anointed by God to carry a healing power. He explains that this kind of anointing is not something you get by training or hard work. It is a gift from God. The person must be called by God into that ministry.
Another thing I learned is that even if someone is anointed to heal, the person receiving the healing must also have faith. It’s like electricity, it flows, but you must connect to it. If someone does not believe, the healing may not take place. So, both the person ministering and the person receiving healing must cooperate. This was also an eye opener for me. I begin to see that even before I can work in the healing, I must have faith.
Like I said earlier, one of the thing I really liked about this book is that the author shares many real stories from his life. He talks about how God healed him when he was a young boy and had a serious heart problem. He was supposed to die, but he believed God’s Word, confessed it every day, and was finally healed. This story showed me that God’s Word works if we stand on it.
There’s another story where Hagin talked about how he received the healing anointing. He said Jesus appeared to him in a vision and told him to stretch out his hands. When he did, Jesus touched his hands and told him that from that day forward, healing power would flow through his hands whenever he laid them on the sick. This story really amazed me and made me believe more in the supernatural power of God.
One of the things that I have come to discover in Nigeria today is that many people are suffering from sicknesses. Hospitals are expensive, and not everyone can afford the right treatment. This book when trading it teaches me that healing is not just for the rich or special people, it is for everyone who believes. It gives hope to the hopeless and faith to the weak.
Also, in churches today, many people do not understand how healing works. Some people think it’s fake, while others think it’s only for certain churches. But Kenneth Hagin explains that healing is biblical, and Jesus still heals today through His servants. This is something every Christian should know.
Now let me create the balance before I conclude, to be honest, not everyone may enjoy this book if they are looking for deep theological arguments. This book is very direct. It is not meant to debate, but to teach and encourage faith. Also, people who do not believe in miracles or healing may find it hard to accept. But if you read it with an open heart, you will see the truth for yourself.
But for me personally, reading The Healing Anointing changed my understanding of healing. It showed me that God still heals today and that healing is part of the gospel. It made me hungry to know God more and to walk in faith. I now believe that God can use anyone who is willing, even here in Nigeria, to bring healing to the sick. We just have to be available, prayerful, and full of faith.
This book is a must-read for pastors, ministers, church workers, and even ordinary believers who want to learn more about healing. It gives you knowledge, increases your faith, and stirs up your spirit. If you are sick, it gives you hope. If you are well, it prepares you to help others.
For me, If I am to rate this book, I will give it 9 out of 10. It is powerful, full of truth, and written with love. The only reason I won’t give it a full 10 is because I wish it had more stories from Nigeria or Africa in general. But apart from that, it is a great book, and I recommend it to everyone who wants to grow in the things of the Spirit.
As I conclude, The Healing Anointing is more than just a book, for me, it is a message from God. It reminds us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Healing is not old-fashioned; it is for now. As a Nigerian, I believe that this message is what our country needs, especially with the high cost of healthcare and the increase in diseases. We need faith. We need power. And most importantly, we need anointing.
