Hi Everyone,
Today I came to you with a post. Today I wanted to make a different post so I was looking for a different community so that I could post there and after searching I found it. I am going to post a community where you can give your opinion only on books. You can tell me about how the book is and its story here. The name of my book is On the Origin of Species This book is written by Charles Darwin and this book was published in 24 November 1859. You can read this book if you want. I hope you will like today's post.
Book Story
Darwin added that not everything was made simultaneously. Instead they have evolved through time. It is because of natural selection. This is because when an organism has a positive trait that is adapted to its environment then it will live to the age of reproduction and transfer that trait to other generations. However on the other hand, the ones lacking this advantageous trait will die.
As an illustration Darwin noticed the various species of finches on the Galapagos Islands which possessed varying forms of the beaks. Such a disparity hinged upon the manner in which they got food. The ones which fed on the harder grains were formed with a strong thick beak and those which fed on the insects with the narrow and sharp beak. Out of this he learnt that this diversity occurred in order to fit in the environment. Darwin indicated in the book that the species always compete. The rivalry may be over the same food over habitat or over a mate. The organisms which are capable to adapt most survive in this competition. This tendency was labeled by the name of Survival of the Fittest.
In the event that natural selection goes on over a protracted time scale some creatures however evolve to an extent that they result into new species. This is the manner in which one species bears a birth to another and the diversity is formed on earth. Darwin did not explicitly discuss in his book how the origin of human occurred but as the ideas in his book suggest it was through evolution that human beings came into being just like other living beings. This created a religious and social controversy in those years. People could not say how it was possible that man like any other animal could evolve.
My Explanation
On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin is not only a book but a starting point of revolution of thoughts. The book was published in 1859 and it founded modern biology and it created a revolution in how people interpret the evolution of life on earth. The book caused a great furor once it was published in the religion science and philosophy world. On the Origin of Species Is not merely a book to be read by scientists but also a book to make any thinking man think. This book introduced logic and scientific observation as the first explanation to the diversity of the living world. Darwin arguments and its evidences were powerful to great extent that after sometime it became accepted in the scientific world. The writing style of Darwin is clear and gradual and systematic. He employs numerous examples and observations in order to prove his theory. Though the book is rather complex to the contemporary readers it offers profound scientific and philosophic beauty since it was produced about 160 years ago in English. When the book was published it was filled with a lot of controversy.
A good number of religious organizations did not wish to believe it as it was a clear controversy to the creation theory. The notion that human beings were a product of evolution just like other creatures appeared blasphemous to most members of the society then. However freethinkers and scientific people acknowledge the book as revolutionary. The book On the Origin of Species is one which introduces one of the most significant scientific shifts in the history of the human race. It is even more important than just explaining the development of life but also explaining the matter of thought logic and evidence. To all people who like to cogitate on science, biology or origin of humanity this book is an experience of their life. Darwin demonstrated to us that life evolves gradually as per the laws of nature and that it is an outcome of an enormous mysterious process.
That's it for today!I appreciate your time and attention. At the end of this post, you can comment and let me know how you liked my post and if you have any questions, I will try to answer them inshaAllah. I hope you like it. See you soon..
