Hi Everyone,
Today I came to you with a post. Today I wanted to make a different post so I was looking for a different community so that I could post there and after searching I found it. I am going to post a community where you can give your opinion only on books. You can tell me about how the book is and its story here. The name of my book is The Future of the Mind This book is written by Michio Kaku and this book was published in 2009. You can read this book if you want. I hope you will like today's post.
Book Story
We are in an age when technology and neuroscience are helping each other unravel secrets of human brain according to Kaku. He describes in this book that even in the future we will have the capability to read mind transfer thought and can even upload brain contents to another body. Although some of these possibilities appear to be of the science fiction variety Kaku reveals that most of these are actually progressing due to actual research. To illustrate the point today the scientists can operate robotic arms with brain signals or enable paralyzed individuals to move their bodies.
A major section of the book is the account of consciousness. According to Kaku there are multiple levels of the work of consciousness. Beginning with the consciousness of mere survival to that of self consciousness he describes these in detail. Could there be a human-like consciousness of artificial intelligence or robots? This is also answered by science and logic as spoken by him. Kaku expounds that in future we will control machines not only using keyboard of mouse but also by using our mind.
One could go as far as to transmit the information brain to brain and this then is known as telepathy. Even though all these concepts are fantastical in the present world Kaku reveals that these technologies are currently under experiment in laboratories. The concept of memory transfer is another interesting topic of the book. Maybe one day in our future there will be the ability to save our brain memory in a digitalized form. It is even possible to scan the whole set up of the brain and upload it to a different body or computer, a so-called digital immortality.
My Explanation
Michio Kaku is a renowned theoretical physicist who simplifies the scientific issues of complex nature and represents them in the kind of narrative form. The Future of the Mind is a book written by him and it is one of his most popular writings where he explains at length the future of the human brain and how it might be linked with technology. The book is an amalgamation of science fantasy as well as the feasibility of the land which is going to come in the future is at hand. The thoughtfulness of the author in the analysis of consciousness is of note in the book. Kaku separates the consciousness of human beings into various levels including an entity to survive computation consciousness consciousness of self etc. In his opinion any consciousness can be describable in scientific terms and artificial intelligence may potentially become human as well by adhering to one of the following levels of consciousness. Michio Kaku demonstrates that with the help of the new technologies scientists can break the doors to the hidden world of human thoughts memories and emotions based on the brain activity because they can be analyzed with the new technologies like fMRI scanners brain machine interface or neuronal networks. People who are paralyzed are now able to control robotic hands. they just need to think and this has been detailed in the book.
Among the strongest points of the book the straightforward manner of presentation can be listed. Kaku makes it rather easy even to an ordinary reader to read the jargon of science neurology artificial intelligence etc. Examples stories true events as well as research make the book readable and enjoyable. The book has however some criticisms. Numerous readers believe that at certain points the author draws an excessive positive picture of the future that is the science fiction like that is somewhat removed as compared to the existing reality. However Kaku has demonstrated his argument with a good degree of research and reasonableness. The Future of the Mind is a book that not only a reader could be taught about science but to think and to invent. It is an unprecedented experience that will aid in gaining an in depth insight about connection between the brain consciousness technology and the future. The book is a must read to all people who love the future technology human potential and the beauty of science.
That's it for today!I appreciate your time and attention. At the end of this post, you can comment and let me know how you liked my post and if you have any questions, I will try to answer them inshaAllah. I hope you like it. See you soon..
