Regrettably, I couldn't attend. Couldn't attend what? The Hive Book Club meeting. I had everything planned and I never knew my body had other plans for me. I stepped out in the morning to meet with my friend, my intention was basically to spend a few hours with her and then return home and attend the meeting.
It wasn't easy leaving my friend, she didn't want to release me, I had to escape when she turned to run a few errands for her boss. She is upset with me, but, I needed to attend the book club chat because I had been missing them and I did promise @stevenson7, I will show up.
Picking a bike home, opened my door, and slumped on my bed. I still had a few minutes before the meeting started, I logged in to Discord to confirm it hadn't started, pleased to discover everywhere was quiet. I didn't realize when I dropped my phone and dozed off. Almost, abruptly, I woke up, and the first thing I did was touch my phone, racing down to Discord. You guessed it, I missed it. I was about an hour late and it hurt like hell.
I was seriously looking forward to sharing the book I have started this year and my reasons. Yes, that was the topic of today's discussion. You might have heard me mention this book time and time again. This year, I started with it, because I needed to stay on track for all my goals, and resolutions.

The book is none other than "Mastery by Robert Greene". I am in love with this particular book among all other books that Robert has written. It has a way of telling me I am doing the right thing when I suddenly feel like changing paths and learning something new.
The central theme is finding your life task and following through with persistency, consistency, and hard work regardless of factors likely to stand in your way. For some of us, we might have lost who we are, and who we were meant to be. And the reason could be because we silence our childlike spirit and began to answer to society, friends, and family.
Those days, when you wake up and you feel life is shitty and all fucked up, look again, you have left your life task, and you are towing the ones meant for other people. For if you truly were living your purpose, life would have meanings. And you wouldn't have any reason to feel you are left behind or you hate your life.
The goodness is that it's never too late to retrace your steps and connect to your inclinations. The whole thing is going through life's apprenticeship, absorbing all of the skills required for self-transformation.
If you return to your life tasks, you'll need other forces and factors to become a master. One of them is submitting to a master(a mentor), learning and absorbing his or her dynamic way of doing the things you intend to learn.
Pause! These days, we have seen how society is putting much value on people who learned to do certain things on their own with no guidance. It's nice to be able to learn things by yourself and become good at it. However, time is too short, and you'll lose valuable time, instead, learning from a master shortens the days of trials and errors for you.
And that's because your master, through experience, would know where to focus your attention on, challenging you, and providing feedback on your efforts and work. Masters help make something out of their apprentice and you need one.
There are more juices embedded in the 318 pages of this book, and you need to read it and find out for yourself. You'll find chapters that brush you up and make you feel miserable for leaving your real calling. You'll find pages that tell you, you did the right thing when you took so and so decisions the last time. And yes, you'll find pages that smirk you and paint your mistakes when dealing with your fellow human in black and white.
All the chapters are incorporated to encourage you to start leaning towards your calling regardless of how much time you have lost. You'll find out those days you thought you've lost weren't lost times, mostly, they were your apprentice years, preparing you for the future. Once you use the years of experience gathered from your ups and downs moments, and transform them into effective methods leading to the mastery of who you are, the whole world will stop, and stand in awe of you. No one will know, it had taken years of trials, and tribulations to get there. All they will see is a genius born in their time.
