On this occasion I want to share with you a new review, this time of the novel Klara and the Sun, by Kazuo Ishiguro... It is a very fascinating novel, which immerses you completely in a future where technology and humanity have become intertwined in disturbing but interesting ways... The story follows Klara, an artificial friend who was designed to be a companion to privileged children in a highly technological society...what struck me most about this book is how the author manages to create such a unique narrator, through this AI...with an innocent and curious perspective on the world around her, she is truly captivating.

As it observes and processes reality in its own way, it begins to make us question what it really means to be human and where we draw the line between artificial intelligence and actual consciousness. This author's prose is very leisurely, but also thoughtful, very much inviting you to slowly immerse yourself in this futuristic world, discovering all its complex things layer by layer. While some readers might find this pace quite slow, I think it is perfect for the story we are being told... deep themes such as loneliness, sacrifice and everything to do with the cost of technological progress are addressed, I found it particularly interesting how the ideas of enhancing children to ensure they succeed in life and the consequences this has both for them and society at large were explored. Nowadays, living in an era where artificial intelligence is becoming more popular and recurrent in our lives, that strikes me as an interesting story.

Hola a todos, querida comunidad lectora de Hive, espero que se encuentren muy bien en el día de hoy.. En esta ocasión les quiero compartir una nueva reseña, esta vez de la novela Klara and the Sun, de Kazuo Ishiguro.. Es una novela muy fascinante, que te sumerge por completo en un futuro donde la tecnología y la humanidad se han entrelazado de formas inquietantes pero interesantes.. La historia sigue a Klara, una amiga artificial que fue diseñada para ser compañera de niños privilegiados en una sociedad altamente tecnológica.. lo que más me impactó de este libro es cómo el autor logra crear un narrador tan único, a través de esta IA.. con una perspectiva inocente y curiosa sobre el mundo que la rodea, es realmente cautivadora.

A medida que observa y procesa la realidad a su manera, nos empieza a hacer cuestionar qué significa realmente ser humano y dónde trazamos la línea entre la inteligencia artificial y la conciencia real. La prosa de este autor es muy pausada, pero también reflexiva, te invita mucho a sumergirte lentamente en este mundo futurista, descubriendo todas sus cosas complejas capa por capa. Aunque algunos lectores podrían encontrar este ritmo bastante lento, yo creo que es perfecto para la historia que nos están contando.. se abordan temas profundos como la soledad, el sacrificio y todo lo relacionado con el costo del progreso tecnológico, me pareció particularmente interesante cómo se exploraron las ideas de mejorar a los niños para garantizar que tengan éxito en la vida y las consecuencias que esto tiene tanto para ellos como para la sociedad en general. En la actualidad, viviendo en una era donde la inteligencia artificial se está haciendo más popular y recurrente en nuestras vidas, eso me parece una historia interesante.

The relationship between Klara and Josie, the little girl to whom she is assigned, is the emotional heart of the entire book.... We get to see how Klara really strives to understand and be able to help Josie, despite the limitations of her programming, it is touching and at times heartbreaking. One aspect I found fascinating was Klara's "vision"... how she can perceive the world in such a fragmented and pixelated way when faced with some new or intense situations, it is a brilliant metaphor for how she processes information and emotions directly.... The way Ishiguro portrays the whole society of the future is subtle, but really effective, I didn't feel that he bombarded me with unnecessary technological details, but gives some glimpses of a world where the gap between privileges is felt much more drastically, and where loneliness seems to be a common thing.

The character of Sun who is almost like a deity to Klara adds interesting layers of mysticism and hope to the story. I thought it was very good how this element intertwines with the main plot and how Clara, despite being an artificial intelligence, has some development as a character... if I had to criticize something, I would say that there are some moments where the plot seems to move too slowly, especially when we pass the middle of the book. However, I think this is something really intentional, reflecting the whole slow process that Klara has to understand the world around her.

La relación entre Klara y Josie, la pequeña niña a la que es asignada, es el corazón emocional de todo el libro.. Podemos ver cómo Klara se esfuerza realmente por entender y poder ayudar a Josie, a pesar de las limitaciones de su programación, es conmovedor y a veces desgarrador. Un aspecto que me pareció fascinante fue la "visión" de Klara... cómo puede percibir el mundo de una forma tan fragmentada y pixelada cuando se enfrenta a algunas situaciones nuevas o intensas, es una metáfora brillante de cómo procesa la información y las emociones directamente.. La forma en la que Ishiguro retrata a toda la sociedad del futuro es sutil, pero realmente efectivo, no sentí que me bombardeó con detalles tecnológicos innecesarios, sino que da algunos vistazos de un mundo donde la brecha entre privilegios se siente mucho más drásticamente, y donde la soledad parece ser algo común.

El personaje de Sol quien es casi como una deidad para Klara, añade capas interesantes de misticismo y esperanza a la historia. Me pareció muy bueno cómo este elemento se entrelaza con la trama principal y cómo Clara, a pesar de ser una inteligencia artificial, tiene cierto desarrollo como personaje.. si tuviera que criticarle algo, diría que hay algunos momentos en los que la trama parece avanzar demasiado lento, especialmente cuando pasamos la mitad del libro. Sin embargo, creo que esto es algo realmente intencional, que refleja todo el proceso lento que tiene Klara para entender el mundo que la rodea.

I thought the ending of the book was very good, and left me thinking quite a bit...without going into direct spoilers, I will say that it's a kind of conclusion that makes you reconsider a lot of everything you've read before, and leaves you with some confining questions about the nature of love. Overall, I think this novel stays with you long after you see it finished, that's a great point...I think it makes you think, it makes you emotional, and it presents you with a unique vision of an interesting future that might even come to fruition in some ways..

Personally, I quite liked this story, thought it handled some themes with impressive depth, without bordering on the cliché... although it's not a light read, I think it's completely worth all the effort I put into it... It makes you question your own ideas about technology, ethics and human relationships, if you are a fan of science fiction, or just looking for an interesting novel that makes you think, I definitely recommend you give them a try. It's a book that explores a lot about the view we have of the modern era. I give it a rating of 4.5/5. I hope you liked this review, I'll see you in the next ones, take care, bye bye.

El final del libro me pareció muy bueno, y me dejó pensando bastante.. sin entrar en spoilers directos, diré que es un tipo de conclusión que te hace reconsiderar mucho todo lo que has leído antes, y te deja con unas preguntas confinantes sobre la naturaleza del amor. En general, creo que esta novela se queda contigo mucho después de verla terminada, eso es un gran punto... creo que te hace pensar, te hace emocionar, y te presenta una visión única de un futuro interesante que incluso podría cumplirse de cierta manera..

Personalmente, me gustó bastante esta historia, pensó que se manejaron unos temas con una profundidad impresionante, sin rayar en lo cliché.. aunque no es una lectura ligera, opino que vale completamente la pena todo el esfuerzo que les pongo.. Te hace cuestionar tus propias ideas sobre la tecnología, la ética y las relaciones humanas, si eres fan de la ciencia ficción, o simplemente buscas una novela interesante que te haga pensar, definitivamente te recomiendo que les des una oportunidad. Es un libro que explora mucho la visión que tenemos de la era moderna. Yo les doy una calificación de 4.5/5.
