Hello everyone, dear Hive reading community... I hope you are feeling great today. This time I want to share with you all a new review.... This time it's about the novel “Toda la verdad de mis mentiras” by Elizabeth Benavent. This story could be described as a whirlwind of emotions... a novel that presents great values such as friendship and love, but with a strange focus on secrets and, of course, lies. From the very first moment, you feel hooked with this dynamic and captivating style...I think it's a novel that balances humor, drama and, of course, gossip in a good way.

It is one of those books that make you feel as if you were gossiping with your close friends, that is, you feel completely immersed in the story, and precisely, we will be immersed in the lives of a group of friends who are not the perfect friends, far from it, but, as you read, they end up being characters with whom you can identify. The main story revolves around Coco, a 28-year-old gallery manager with a bright personality, but with a closet full of secrets... this girl is head over heels in love with her best friend and roommate, Marin, although he obviously has no idea. Her dilemma is as sweet as it is torturous...her romantic feelings make you wish she could get to be with him, while also shuddering, at the way she hides them from everyone, even from herself at times...the author interestingly captures this tension between affection, secrecy and friendship.

It's a feeling that many of us can understand, though I think it's often overlooked in literature...here, this theme has a certain sensitivity and immerses you in Coco's life and makes you feel like you're one of her friends, and it's easy to see how you end up silently rooting for her. Throughout the story we meet Coco's different friends...each one keeping their own secrets and aspirations, which makes the story very juicy for this very reason, as you never know what things will explode. Marin, this girl's deep love, is not only a charming guy, but he also tends to make quite a few mistakes and can act silly sometimes, showing us that in this group of friends no one is totally perfect.. Then, we have in the story Aroa, Martin's ex, who, despite her beauty and success, is full of vulnerabilities and a desire to reconnect with him... she's not the villain of the story, but she's not a complete saint either. She's simply someone with complicated emotions trying to manage a difficult love life while trying to do her best.

Hola a todos, querida comunidad lectora de Hive.. espero que se encuentren genial en el día de hoy. En esta ocasión quiero compartir con todos ustedes una nueva reseña.. Esta vez se trata de la novela "Toda la verdad de mis mentiras" de Elizabeth Benavent. Esta historia podría describirla como un torbellino de emociones.. una novela que presenta grandes valores como la amistad y el amor, pero con un enfoque extraño en los secretos y, por supuesto, en las mentiras. Desde el primer momento, te sientes enganchado con este estilo dinámico y cautivador.. creo que es una novela que equilibra de buena manera el humor, el drama y, por supuesto, el chisme.

Es uno de esos libros que te hacen sentir como si estuvieras chismeando con tus íntimos amigos, o sea, te sientes completamente sumergido en la historia, y precisamente, nos veremos sumergidos en la vida de un grupo de amigos que no son los amigos perfectos, ni mucho menos, pero, conforme vas leyendo, terminan siendo personajes con los cuales te puedes identificar. La historia principal gira en torno a Coco, una gerente de galería de unos 28 años con una personalidad brillante, pero con un closet también lleno de secretos.. esta chica está perdidamente enamorada de su mejor amigo y compañero de piso, Marin, aunque él, obviamente, no tiene ni idea.. Su dilema es tan dulce como tortuoso.. sus sentimientos románticos te hacen desear que ella logre estar con él, mientras también te estremeces, por la manera en la que ella los oculta de todos, incluso de sí misma a veces.. la autora captura de manera interesante esta tensión entre el cariño, el secreto y la amistad.

Es una sensación que muchos de nosotros podemos comprender, aunque creo que a menudo se pasa por alto en la literatura.. aquí, este tema tiene cierta sensibilidad y te sumerge en la vida de Coco y te hace sentir como si fueras uno más de sus amigos, y es fácil ver cómo terminas apoyándola en silencio. A lo largo de la historia conocemos a los diferentes amigos de Coco.. cada uno guarda sus propios secretos y aspiraciones, lo que hace que la historia sea muy jugosa por esta misma razón, ya que nunca sabe qué cosas explotarán. Marin, el profundo amor de esta chica, no es solo un encantador chico, sino que también suele cometer bastantes errores y puede actuar de manera tonta algunas veces, mostrándonos que en este grupo de amigos nadie es totalmente perfecto.. Luego, tenemos en la historia a Aroa, la ex de Martin, quien, a pesar de su belleza y éxito, está llena de vulnerabilidades y un deseo de reconectar con él.. no es la villana de la historia, pero tampoco es una completa santa. Es simplemente alguien con emociones complicadas que intenta manejar una vida amorosa difícil mientras intenta dar lo mejor de sí.

I really liked how the author managed to create realistic and three-dimensional characters that are far from idealization... as I was telling you, each of them carries a combination of insecurities, ambitions and regrets very dense... something really human and typical that allows anyone to identify for different reasons. For example, Gus, another friend of Coco's, is an Instagram famous poet who hides a lot of his insecurities behind his social media success, he has a certain secret past with Coco that adds another layer of depth to their friendship.. and you can really feel the latent tension that comes out when all these people start meeting.

I think these complicated relationships are what ends up trapping many readers in this story, as you are left very expectant for what might happen and the more the web of connections gets tangled up, the more exciting or frustrating it all gets depending on the case. The book takes place on a road trip... a celebration for a friend's bachelorette party which serves as a perfect setting to explore the aforementioned complexities within the group of friends...we have a caravan and miles and miles of road ahead of us, the group of friends set off with high hopes, but it soon becomes apparent that the journey will be anything but easy.... Tensions begin to rise, secrets float in the air and the author takes us through a maze of drama and gossip that is so exciting. Clearly there is also a certain touch of humor that serves to give a lighter touch to what could be an overload of drama, I feel that all the humor was integrated quite naturally into the story and helps you connect more with the characters, even if they are very flawed.

Me gustó mucho como la autora consiguió crear personajes realistas y tridimensionales que están lejos de la idealización.. como les decía, cada uno de ellos carga una combinación de inseguridades, ambiciones y arrepentimientos muy densa.. algo realmente humano y típico que permite a cualquiera identificarse por distintas razones. Por ejemplo, Gus, otro amigo de Coco, es un poeta famoso en Instagram que esconde muchas de sus inseguridades detrás de su éxito en las redes sociales, tiene cierto pasado secreto con Coco que añade otra capa de profundidad a su amistad.. y se siente mucho la tensión latente que se desprende cuando todas estas personas empiezan a reunirse.

Creo que estas relaciones complicadas es lo que termina atrapando a muchos lectores en esta historia, ya que te quedas muy expectante por lo que puede pasar y mientras más se va enredando la telaraña de conexiones, todo se vuelve más emocionante o frustrante dependiendo el caso. El libro se desarrolla en un viaje por carretera.. una celebración para la despedida de soltera de una amiga que sirve como un escenario perfecto para explorar las complejidades antes mencionadas dentro del grupo de amigos.. tenemos una caravana y kilómetros y kilómetros de carretera por delante, el grupo de amigos parte con grandes esperanzas, pero pronto se hace evidente que el viaje no será nada fácil.. Las tensiones comienzan a crecer, los secretos flotan en el aire y la autora nos lleva a través de un laberinto de drama y chisme tan emocionante. Claramente también hay cierto toque de humor que sirve para darle un toque más ligero a lo que podría ser una sobrecarga de drama, siento que se integró todo el humor de una manera bastante natural en la historia y ayuda a que conectes más con los personajes, aun sean estos muy imperfectos.

Friendship is one of the central themes in this story...here it doesn't sugarcoat the problems and misunderstandings that accompany close relationships between people who have a certain appreciation for each other, but shows us in a more realistic way, how sometimes friendships can feel like a burden when we keep our vulnerabilities hidden. This is a story that addresses this issue of unspoken feelings between friends or buried jealousy without falling into clichés, here it is handled with some empathy, making it all feel more natural, without the need to fall into exaggerations....

This is seen most clearly when we get inside Coco's internal conflict, who wants to be honest about her feelings for Marin, but is obviously afraid of the possible consequences, it's the kind of tension that certainly kept me turning the pages wanting to see how it was all going to end, and how this group of friends was going to end up exploding or hating each other, to see how things would turn out. I think, all in all, romance and friendship is sometimes dealt with in a sweet way and sometimes in a painful way... the author doesn't shy away from showing the uncomfortable parts of love, especially unrequited love.

These feelings are always treated with respect, and this is a great point, as it allows the story to unfold in a nice way.... No one wants to hurt anyone, they just want to express themselves and be heard... I really enjoyed this book, maybe inside I really like gossip and drama haha. I give it a 4/5 star rating. I found it to be a different premise, realistic and overall adult. Although the repetition of certain things can be frustrating, ultimately I think what really matters is the internal struggle of the characters and how at the end of the day they are just humans trying to feel and express themselves in a good way. La amistad es uno de los temas centrales en esta historia.. aquí no se endulzan los problemas y malentendidos que acompañan las relaciones cercanas entre las personas que se tienen cierto aprecio, sino que nos muestra de una manera más realista, cómo a veces las amistades pueden sentirse como una carga cuando mantenemos nuestras vulnerabilidades ocultas. Esta es una historia que aborda este tema de los sentimientos no dichos entre amigos o los celos enterrados sin caer en clichés, aquí se maneja con cierta empatía, haciendo que todo se sienta más natural, sin necesidad de caer en exageraciones..

Esto se ve con más claridad cuando nos metemos dentro del conflicto interno de Coco, quien quiere ser honesta sobre sus sentimientos hacia Marin, pero obviamente teme de las posibles consecuencias, es la clase de tensión que sin duda me mantuvo pasando las páginas deseando ver cómo iba a terminar todo, y cómo este grupo de amigos iba a terminar explotando o odiándose, ver cómo resultarían las cosas. Creo que, a pesar de todo, el romance y la amistad a veces se trata de manera dulce y otras veces de manera dolorosa.. la autora no evita mostrar las partes incómodas del amor, especialmente de los amores no correspondidos.

Estos sentimientos siempre se tratan con respeto, y esto es un gran punto, ya que permite que la historia se desarrolle de una manera linda.. Nadie quiere hacer daño a nadie, solamente quieren expresarse y ser escuchados.. yo realmente disfruté este libro, tal vez dentro a mí me guste mucho el chisme y el drama jaja. Le doy una clasificación de 4/5. Me pareció una premisa diferente, realista y sobre todo adulta. Aunque la repetición de ciertas cosas pueden ser frustrantes, en última instancia creo que lo que realmente importa es la lucha interna de los personajes y cómo al fin y al cabo solo son humanos tratando de sentir y expresarse de buena manera.
