La semana pasada les estuve comentando que había un libro que no había reseñado y ese era Alas de Sangre. Así que me tomé el tiempo para terminar, por fin, el de Alas de Hierro. Que es la segunda parte de la historia de Violet y Xaden. Yo tenía muchos meses con ese libro pendiente, ya que cuando lo comencé a leer, me aburrió muchísimo por lo lento que era. Y es que estos libros son muy extensos y llenos de información, especialmente cuando son mundos de fantasía bien desarrollados. Y Rebecca Yarros, la autora de esta saga, escribe muchísimo y super detallado todo, así que nos metemos mucho en el mundo de la saga Empíreo. Así que bueno, después de mucho tiempo en espera, por fin terminé este segundo libro y quería comentarles qué tal me pareció, sin spoilers, o trataré de hacerlo.

Last week I mentioned that there was a book I hadn't reviewed yet, and that was Wings of Blood. So I took the time to finally finish Wings of Iron, which is the second part of Violet and Xaden's story. I had been putting off reading that book for many months because when I started reading it, I found it very boring because it was so slow. These books are very long and full of information, especially when they are well-developed fantasy worlds. And Rebecca Yarros, the author of this saga, writes a lot and goes into great detail about everything, so we get really immersed in the world of the Empyrean saga. So, after a long wait, I finally finished this second book and wanted to tell you what I thought of it, without spoilers, or at least I'll try.

En este segundo libro lo comenzamos bastante dramático, ya que el anterior terminó de una forma muy impactante. Así que ese conflicto se resuelve, un poco, y nuestros protagonistas regresan a Basgiat para resolver asuntos pendientes. En este libro, Violet descubre muchos secretos y también nos deja con más enigmas. Con respecto a la relación con Xaden, al principio me estresaba mucho, pero ya después me estresó muchísimo más, y hablo después de ESE final, siento que sin duda alguna es para arrancarse los pelos. No se porque las autoras de libros de fantasía tienen que hacernos sufrir tanto, que mal le hicimos? No tengo idea. Pero ese final de Alas de Hierro es como para ponerse a llorar y con mil preguntas sin responder.

This second book starts off quite dramatically, as the previous one ended in a very shocking way. So that conflict is resolved, somewhat, and our protagonists return to Basgiat to settle unfinished business. In this book, Violet discovers many secrets and also leaves us with more mysteries. As for her relationship with Xaden, at first it stressed me out a lot, but then it stressed me out even more, and I'm talking about after THAT ending, which I feel is definitely hair-pulling material. I don't know why fantasy book authors have to make us suffer so much. What did we do to deserve this? I have no idea. But that ending of Wings of Iron is enough to make you cry and leave you with a thousand unanswered questions.

Objetivamente hablando, este libro es bueno después de la primera mitad, que es donde viene el drama real y la acción. Si pueden pasar ese tramo, que son muchas páginas realmente, el libro es genial. Por otro lado, siento que cuando lea el tercer libro voy a terminar mucho peor. Aun así lo voy a leer, ya que soy masoquista y necesito terminar esta historia y ponerme al día. Sé que son 5 libros en total, pero esta saga no ha terminado y eso es una ventaja, a la hora de ponernos al día y todo eso. Creo que será interesante saber cómo va a seguir Rebecca Yarros esta saga. Espero que les haya encantado conocer mis opiniones al respecto, nos leemos pronto!

Objectively speaking, this book is good after the first half, which is where the real drama and action come in. If you can get through that part, which is really a lot of pages, the book is great. On the other hand, I feel like when I read the third book, I'm going to end up feeling much worse. Even so, I'm going to read it, because I'm a masochist and I need to finish this story and catch up. I know there are five books in total, but this saga isn't over yet, and that's an advantage when it comes to catching up and all that.
