Sucre, Myth and Holiness. Today we are proud to present a regional oriented literature, from the hand of one of the most recognized chroniclers, historians and writers of our Cumaná, Sucre Venezuela. We are talking about Dr. Ramón Badaracco; a human being with an impeccable trajectory and who has dedicated most of his life to the study and promotion of his hometown Cumaná. He is a great promoter of the regional culture, where his work as the main chronicler of the town has allowed the historical heritage of the city to be safeguarded over time. His capacity as an analyst, historian, chronicler, journalist and writer, has given him the happiness of receiving a great number of recognitions and it is so; because a trajectory of dedication deserves it.
Among his works are Opusculo "Cumana y Coro"; The Foundation of Cumana; The House Argos; The Conjured; among others. However, the literature that concerns us today is Sucre, Myth and Sanctity; a book that deepens the life of the Great Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio Jose of Sucre, not only as a hero, but also analyzes the human and historical part of one of the most important liberators of our nation. On the other hand; Ramón goes beyond a mere biography; since it seeks the reader to understand in depth, how the figure of the Great Marshal has been shown and internalized throughout time. When reading this literature, as I said before, we realize that it is not a mere traditional biography of Antonio Jose of Sucre, but a reflection of how this figure has impacted over time, to the point of becoming a historical and legendary symbol of our people. In this sense, the author invites us to investigate the main topics put on the table about Sucre; his myth and his civic sanctity. Logically; as it has been said, we are going to know the life of our Great Marshal, his birth, friends, loves and his evolution in the militant life; it is simply a collection work and even if you are not a connoisseur of the subject, this literature will make you understand the importance of keeping alive the history of any region.
If we focus on the theme of myth; in this aspect, the author reflects how this hero is idealized and placed in a position of legendary character. This not only allows an analysis of his career and military victories, but also offers a vision of the Grand Marshal in terms of virtues, heroism and honesty as a role model. On the other hand, Ramón emphasizes how popular history, literature and politics, according to the interpretation of each of us, have been positive or negative factors in transforming the image of Sucre from a historical hero to a legend that has endured over time.
When we talk about the aspect of sanctity; we should not confuse this point with the religious theme; but this refers to the principles of morality and ethics within society. All of this in attention to the deep admiration that the Venezuelan and Latin American culture has for the memory of Sucre. In a few words; the author reflects the sacrifice and loyalty assumed by the Great Marshal; placing him in a place of honor, to turn him into an impeccable hero. In short; this sanctity is of civic and historical type, which produces a deep admiration towards people who are an example of a people.
As a final point, this work invites us to reflect on the historical moments, the memory of the people and how citizens orient their devotion to their liberating heroes. On the other hand and definitively; the literature in question, helps us to understand that even with the passing of the years; our Grand Marshal Antonio José de Sucre, is synonymous with freedom and identity of the entire Latin American community. Therefore, we are proud to present this book, because it represents the history, the legend and the admiration of a whole people towards their patriotic heroes. Sucre, Mito y Santidad. Hoy tenemos el orgullo de presentar una literatura orientada a lo regional, de la mano de uno de los cronistas, historiadores y escritores más reconocidos de nuestra Cumaná, Sucre Venezuela. Hablamos del Dr. Ramón Badaracco; un ser humano con una trayectoria impecable y que ha dedicado el mayor tiempo de su vida, al estudio y promoción de su ciudad natal Cumaná. Es un gran promotor de la cultura regional; donde su labor como cronista principal de la localidad; ha permitido que el patrimonio histórico de la ciudad esté resguardado a lo largo del tiempo. Su capacidad como analista, historiador, cronista, periodista y escritor, le ha dado la dicha de recibir un gran número de reconocimientos y es así; porque una trayectoria de dedicación lo merece.
Dentro de sus obras, se destacan Opúsculo "Cumaná y Coro"; La Fundación de Cumaná; La Casa Argos; Las Conjuradas; entre otros. Sin embargo; la literatura que hoy nos ocupa es Sucre, Mito y Santidad; un libro que profundiza la vida del Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre, no solo como el héroe; sino, que se analiza la parte humana e histórica de uno los libertadores más importantes de nuestra nación. Por otra parte; Ramón va más allá de una mera biografía; ya que busca que el lector comprenda a profundidad, como ha sido mostrada e internalizada la figura del Gran Mariscal a lo largo del tiempo. Al leer esta literatura; como se dije antes, nos damos cuenta que no es una mera biografía tradicional de Antonio José de Sucre, sino, es un reflejo de como esta figura ha impactado en el tiempo, al punto de convertirse en un símbolo histórico y legendario de nuestro gentilicio. En tal sentido; el autor nos invita a investigar los temas principales puestos en el tapete acerca de Sucre; su mito y su santidad cívica. Lógicamente; como se ha dicho, vamos a conocer la vida de nuestra Gran Mariscal, su nacimiento, amigos, amores y su evolución en la vida milita; sencillamente es una obra de colección y aunque no seas conocedor del tema, esta literatura te harán entender la importancia de mantener viva la historia de cualquier región.
Si nos enfocamos en el tema del mito; en este aspecto, el autor refleja como este héroe es idealizado y colocado en una posición de personaje legendario. Esto no solo permite un análisis sobre su carrera y victorias militares; sino que ofrece una visión del Gran Mariscal en lo que respecta a virtudes, heroismo y honestidad como un modelo a seguir. Por otra parte; Ramón hace énfasis en como la historia popular, la literatura y la política, de acuerdo a la interpretación de cada uno de nosotros, han sido factores positivos o negativos para transformar la imagen de Sucre de héroe histórico, a una leyenda que ha perdurado en el tiempo.
Al hablamos del aspecto de la santidad; no debemos confundir este punto con el tema religioso; sino que esto hace referencia a los principios de la moral y la ética dentro de la sociedad. Todo ello en atención a la admiración profunda que tiene la cultura venezolana y latinoamericana ante la memoria de Sucre. En pocas palabras; el autor refleja el sacrificio y la lealtad que asume el Gran Mariscal; ubicándolo en un sitial de honor, para convertirlo en un prócer intachable. En fin; esta santidad es de tipo cívico e histórico, lo que produce una profunda admiración hacia personas que son ejemplo de un pueblo.
Como punto final; esta obra nos invita a reflexionar sobre los momentos históricos, la memoria del pueblo y como los ciudadanos orientan su devoción hacia sus héroes libertadores.
