Reading an angelic book like "Working with Angels by Steven Brooks has been one of the most eye opening and spiritually fulfilling events in my Christian walk. The book has unfolded my heart and mind to a topic most believers may forget about or never tend to understand angels and their part to play in our lives as children of God.
Having read this book I believed in angels but did not have much idea on how they operate, how they can be helpful to me or even how to be more conscious of their existence. But having read the pages of this book, I have found a much clearer and more confident (because much better grounded) knowledge of angelic ministry, and I feel much better qualified to walk today in close partnership with the supernatural assistance God has offered me.
The first message in the book is exceedingly plain and simple which is the angels are real, and not inactive and that they have been commissioned to assist the believers to achieve the plan of God on earth. His message is very scriptural and modest as portrayed by Steven Brooks. He does not promote angel worship and he does not even want to exalt the position of the angels in contrast with the marks of Jesus or the Holy Spirit.
Rather, he puts it in a position where we can perceive that angels are servants of God, made to guide us as we work on earth in doing the work of our God. Such knowledge in itself fixed a great portion of misinformation that I had pretty much gathered in angels through movies, culture, or even church silence.
Among the primary ways in which this book has assisted me is to enlighten me more about the spiritual world. I had so many times in the past lived in the world that I could only see, feel, or touch. It seldom crossed my mind how heaven is actually in motion all around us and how the angels are dispatched to aide, serve and guide us in a manner that we might not even realize immediately.
Steven Brooks tells real-life testimonies of intervention by angels both to his personal experiences as well as the experiences of other believers through defence against accident, healing and provision of solutions to prayer. These accounts moved me to become more acceptable to spiritual actions that happen around me and more believing in God.
The other valuable lesson that I can refer to is that obedience and holiness is required on our part in case we desire to work with angels. Angels love the presence of the Almighty, and the individuals who walk in purity and humility and obedience, which the author insists on using as a prompter of how angels are attracted to what is right. This assisted me in looking back into my life. Is the life I am living an angel friendly life? And so absorbed in love, and faith, and littleness was I?
Such questions have seen me repent on certain issues and make a fresh resolve to ensure that I live a life that glorifies God. I realize now that holiness does not only avoid sin, but is a means of making myself open to use by God-and even to the angels who will help me on my way through His plan.
Steven Brooks also preached on how to speak the Word of God and how angels react to the Word of God as spoken in faith. It ended up being a whole different thing on my behalf. The lesson I learned is that anger, fear or doubting can close the door to the work of the angels, but by speaking the promises of God or confession of his Word, we actually give the angels the authority to go to work on our behalf.
This made me more aware of my language since I heard this. I no longer necessarily say things just because I feel like it; instead I attempt to say what God would say in problematic situations. I feel more peaceful and secure in life than I did before and I think the reason is that I am now bringing in line my speech and activating angelic help according to the word of God.
The book was also useful to me because I began to understand that angels are not to be worshipped, but I can respect their presence and be thankful to them for being there to help. Steven Brooks was very cautious in making this point. This was the reminder to us that only God is to be worshipped, and that any encounter with angels must make us look forward to Jesus. I like this balance better since it enables me to get more grounded.
As I now seek to have additional angelic assistance, I still elect to focus more on God and what He has to say in regards to my life. I do not pursue angels but invite them to help me in all my endeavors to achieve the purpose of God in my life.
One of the most memorable parts of the book for me was the teaching on angelic assignments. Each believer has angels assigned to them, and these angels are familiar with our calling, our journey, and even our weaknesses. It brought me so much comfort to know that I am not alone. Even when I feel weak or unsure, God has already provided help through angels who are with me at every step. This made me more confident in prayer, knowing that as I ask God for help, He may send His angels to respond.
The book also helped remove fear from my heart. Sometimes, hearing about the spiritual realm can feel scary or mysterious, especially if we think of demons or the unknown. But Steven Brooks focused on how the angelic realm is full of light, joy, and victory. He emphasized that we have more on our side than what is against us.
This reminded me of the story of Elisha in the Bible, where he told his servant, “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them” (2 Kings 6:16). That story now has more meaning for me because I understand it better in the light of what I’ve learned about angels.
The reasons, in my practice, that made me pray more specifically were when I was working with Angels. When I now pray, I always request God to send His angels to shield, keep and help me and my family, and even my job or ministry. I do not invite angels and command them, since the book educated everyone by telling that the delivery of angels is the work of God.
But I summon them, to help, by praying, and such as are of the tune of God's will. I have realized that other aspects of my life appear to run more smoothly since I embarked on undertaking this. I feel much more confident and I am never afraid anymore because I know that heaven is working for me.
On a final note, I have immensely benefited my spiritual life after reading Working with Angels written by Steven Brooks. It has also made me realize that I am not a lonely Christian and that God has appointed angels to guide me to achieve my destiny. I have learnt to embrace purity, faith and speak the Word of God. I am also much more conscious of the spirituality and sensitivity of the presence of God.
This book is not merely teaching about angels, but is an appeal to walk and work with God as closely as possible and be in concert with the aid which He has supplied. In my opinion, this is a book that every believer must read and allow his or her heart to be opened up to a deeper relationship with the Lord with the help of the ministry of angels.
