The Alchemist
Was the first book I read by Paulo Coelho and I was captivated by his story that motivated me to read other works of this author, but none has left a mark in my memory as did the alchemist.
When I read it I was working in a school, in the afternoon, from 12 pm to 5 pm, from there I went to the university, I had the book in digital format saved on my laptop and every time I finished my shift with the group of students or came to the school break I took the opportunity to quickly turn on the computer and read its pages, there were days that I wanted to go to work just to have those free minutes and to be able to read.
It was exciting, my heart was racing as I immersed myself in the story, my coworkers used to greet me during recess and I would tell them that I was reading a very interesting book that I could not stop reading and some of them would stay and I would read aloud to them until we returned to our responsibilities.
I didn't know this author and after finishing the alchemist I was so enamored with his writing style that I ended up buying and purchasing many of his other books online.
If I were to say that I remember everything in the book I would be lying through my teeth, because it was one of my first books when I started reading more than 25 years ago, what remained in my memory was the excitement I felt to reading it and the environment that accompanied me in this process.
Like in a movie I remember sitting on my desk and placing it near the door of the library which was my work area. My position in the educational institution was as a librarian and as an anecdote I used to read a digital book 🙈, ironies of life, I used to sit at the door of the library because from there I received the soft breeze of the sunset and I could rest my eyes between one reflection and another seeing a saman tree, my heart would accelerate and I would sigh with each chapter.
At this instant, I ask myself Could it be that the book was as good as I perceived it, or did the environment in which I read it Influence my perception? 🤔
El Alquimista
Fue el primer libro que leí de Paulo Coelho y quedé prendada de su historia que me motivó a leer otras obras de este autor, pero ninguna ha dejado huella en mi memoria como lo hizo el alquimista.
Cuando lo leí me encontraba trabajando en una escuela, en el horario de la tarde, de 12 pm a 5 pm, de allí salía hacia la universidad, tenía el libro en formato digital guardado en mi laptop y cada vez que terminaba mi turno con el grupo de estudiantes o venía el receso escolar aprovechaba para encender rápidamente la computadora y leer sus páginas, fueron días que quería ir a trabajar nada más por tener esos minutos libres y poder leer.
Fue algo apasionante, mi corazón se aceleraba mientras me sumergía en la historia, mis compañeros de trabajo solían saludarme en receso y yo les decía que estaba leyendo un libro interesantísimo que no podía parar de leer e incluso algunos se quedaban y yo les leía en voz alta hasta que volvíamos a nuestras responsabilidades.
No conocía a este autor y después de terminar el alquimista quedé tan enamorada de su estilo de escritura que terminé comprando y adquiriendo por Internet muchos de sus otros libros.
Si dijera que recuerdo todo lo que está en el libro mentiría con descaro, porque fue uno de mis primeros libros cuando me inicie en la lectura hace más de 25 años, lo que quedó en mi memoria fue la emoción que sentía por leerlo y el entorno que me acompañó en este proceso.
Como en una película recuerdo estar sentada sobre mi escritorio y lo ubicaba cerca de la puerta de la biblioteca que era mi área de trabajo. 😆 Mi cargo en la institución educativa era de bibliotecaria y como anécdota leía un libro digital 🙈, ironías de la vida, me sentaba en la puerta de la biblioteca porque desde allí recibía la suave brisa del atardecer y podía descansar los ojos entre una reflexión y otra viendo un árbol de samán, mi corazón se aceleraba y suspiraba con cada capítulo.
En este instante me pregunto ¿Será que el libro fue tan bueno como lo percibí o el entorno en que lo leí Influyó en mi percepción? 🤔
