Hello, Hive Book Club community:
Today I bring you a spectacular book about spirituality (reaching enlightenment) called The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle.
I have had this book for several years, but I had never read it. The truth is that I bought it just when I got the famous reader's block. I got to a point where I didn't want to read anything, I got completely discouraged and moved away from reading.
I think the perfect time to read it was now, just when I'm most connected to these issues. I feel like if I had read it earlier, I wouldn't have understood it. I had heard it was hard to understand, but despite that, I understood it very well.

Hoy les traigo un libro espectacular sobre espiritualidad (llegar a la iluminación) llamado El poder del ahora, de Eckhart Tolle.
Este libro lo tengo desde hace varios años, pero nunca lo había leído. La verdad es que lo compré justo cuando me dio el famoso bloqueo lector. Llegué a un punto en el que no quería leer nada, me desanimé por completo y me alejé de la lectura.
Creo que el momento perfecto para leerlo era ahora, justo cuando estoy más conectada con estos temas. Siento que si lo hubiera leído antes, no lo habría entendido. Había escuchado que era difícil de comprender, pero a pesar de eso, lo entendí muy bien.

Although it is a fairly short book (255 pages), it took me ten days to read it. So far, it has been the book that has taken me the longest time, and I like that, because I don't intend to read many books, but to learn as much as possible with each one, and of course, to share it with you!
The letters are small, which makes it seem longer, and it is also a book that requires attention. You can't read it on automatic because you get lost. It happened to me several times: I found myself reading by inertia and I had to go back to get the message.

Aunque es un libro bastante corto (255 páginas), me demoré diez días en leerlo. Hasta ahora, ha sido el libro que más tiempo me ha tomado, y eso me gusta, porque no tengo la intención de leer muchos libros, sino de aprender lo máximo posible con cada uno, y por supuesto, ¡compartirlo con ustedes!

The book begins with a powerful statement: it is possible to live free from suffering, anxiety and neurosis. According to the author, we are the creators of our own suffering, we condition ourselves to it and end up identifying with it.
Tolle calls “ego” the past and the future. He says that when we cling to our history (abuses, blows, traumas, etc.), we continue to suffer in the present for something that no longer exists. Too much of the past brings depression, and too much of the future brings anxiety. If we live waiting for a better future, without being present, we are also trapped in the ego.

Tolle llama "ego" al pasado y al futuro. Dice que cuando nos aferramos a nuestra historia (abusos, golpes, traumas, etc.), seguimos sufriendo en el presente por algo que ya no existe. What do I think of the book? I think if you know how to detail it and read it carefully, your head will explode! You will see life from another perspective. But if you're not prepared for the message, you may find it boring or repetitive. That's what I heard from other people. Personally, I didn't feel it repeated anything. I loved one exercise he suggests: focus on your body, pay attention to each part for 15 seconds. it's great! ¿Qué pienso del libro?
Creo que si sabes detallarlo y lo lees con atención, ¡te explotará la cabeza! Verás la vida desde otra perspectiva. Pero si no estás preparado para el mensaje, puede parecerte aburrido o repetitivo. Eso es lo que escuché de otras personas.
En lo personal, no sentí que se repitiera nada. Me encantó un ejercicio que propone: enfocarte en tu cuerpo, prestarle atención a cada parte durante 15 segundos. ¡Es genial!
No es un libro para empezar a leer si eres nuevo como lector, porque requiere mucha concentración y enfoque.
