Soy una apasionada de las historias de amor, lo confieso y no es que logre acelerar mi corazón y encender mi vida, desde las penas ajenas y los amores de otros, es que soy una romántica empedernida. Me centro en esa pasión, en la fuga de las almas y sus existencias, en torno a lo que más quieren, por lo que luchan y se sienten realizados, y hacen entonces que mi vida se llene de la constante creación indisoluble entre existencia y amor; pasión y cordura; equilibrio y desenfreno.
Hoy les presento a mis amigos de Hive Club Book una obra, que no por comentada y llevada y traída, es conocida realmente por todos: Romeo y Julieta, del escritor inglés William Shakespeare. Confieso que la leí por primera vez hace muchos años, quizás por allá en la época de la secundaria y luego la desempolvé cuando la estudié en el Pre-Universitario. Más tarde, en el Pedagógico, fue una de las obras de la Literatura Universal que estaba dentro del Plan de estudio.
Cuando pasan los años y vuelves sobre un libro él ya no es el mismo dijera Eduardo Galeano en su texto Función del lector/1:
“Cuando Lucía Peláez era muy niña, leyó una novela a escondidas. La leyó a pedacitos, noche tras noche, ocultándola bajo la almohada.
… Lucía no ha vuelto a leer ese libro. Ya no lo reconocería. Tanto le ha crecido adentro que ahora es otro, ahora es suyo.”
Significa que yo también era otra persona, mi vida, mis experiencias eran otras y nuevas; mi percepción del mundo me había cambiado.
Es un conflicto que se muestra, a partir de que dos familias que se vieron envueltas en una rencilla de años y años e involucraron a los demás que no tuvieron contacto directo con esa venganza.
Romeo, perteneciente a la familia Montesco, y Julieta, de la Capuletos, se encuentran por primera vez en una fiesta de máscaras; él se enamora instantáneamente de Julieta Capuleto, quien está prometida por un hombre que eligió su padre.

Lo que pienso de esta genial y romántica obra
Los personajes están muy bien determinados; sus diálogos son apasionados y toda la obra es penetrante y apasionada. Otro elemento que me resultó atrayente, fue la simplicidad con la que Shakespeare resuelve los trances literarios. Pasa por encima de ellos, sin preocuparse desmesuradamente de que éstos puedan ser del todo creíbles o no. ¿Es esto posible? Pues ¿por qué no?
Creo que el amor puede vencer rivalidades, incluso que puede devastar el odio hasta acabar con él. Pero algo que no me gustó es que ese amor arrastra a personas inocentes a cometer un acto desesperado, lo cual desata la tragedia.
Es una obra clásica que a mi juicio perdurará para siempre y que lamentablemente, no se encuentra lejos de nuestra realidad actual.
Sí, fue escrito hace mucho tiempo y para algunos es una historia ficticia, demasiado dramatizada y con personajes muy victimizados. Pero partiendo del hecho de que para algunas personas, sus emociones se convierten en su principal motor, William Shakespeare, nos deja entre ver qué tan lejos pueden llegar a influir esas turbaciones en su proceder.
El amor es un regalo, y para Romeo y Julieta, el amor, fue el inicio de un romance que selló sus vidas y las de familia para eternamente. He passes over them, without worrying excessively about whether they are entirely believable or not.
Is this possible? Why not? I believe that love can conquer rivalries, even that it can devastate hatred until it ends. But something I didn't like is that this love leads innocent people to commit a desperate act, which unleashes tragedy. It's a classic play that, in my opinion, will endure forever and, unfortunately, is not far removed from our current reality.
Yes, it was written a long time ago, and for some, it's a fictional story, overly dramatized and with very victimized characters. But based on the fact that for some people, their emotions become their main driving force, William Shakespeare gives us a glimpse into how deeply these turmoils can influence their actions.
Love is a gift, and for Romeo and Juliet, love was the beginning of a romance that sealed their lives and those of their family forever. Something that shouldn't be an example to follow in our lives, because even though things are sometimes complicated, there's always a way out, and suicide isn't exactly the polite way.
