What a beautiful book.
Hi friends, sorry, I still can't get past the pages of this book; it truly has me captivated. It's a book of poetry that won the Principito Prize in 2014 and was published in 2015.
Creatures of Silence is a book that captivates you from the first poem. Even when you reach the end of the final reading, you don't want to put it down. You have to hold it in your hands, because you feel like you've forgotten something or that new texts will magically appear inside.
That's the magical reading that Havana writer Elaine Vilar Madruga always suggests. Although she's very young, she already has many awards and recognitions to her name, and she's also a constant writer. She's constantly writing, and she doesn't just write poetry for children, but also for adults, and she writes short stories, novels, and plays for all ages.
Elaine moves through literature like a fairy tale about nature, not to mention that she can do it in any verse without fear of making a mistake. She has many books published; my son's first book was one of Elaine's books. She's very adept at capturing readers of all ages.
The Creatures of Silence team did a beautiful job. The editors were the great Antonio Gutiérrez, who was also an excellent children's writer. We've seen one of his books before and several he edited. I'm sure the editing wasn't difficult, since Elaine writes very neatly.
The illustrations are by Junior Fernández, an excellent writer and editor as well as a visual artist. He has a unique style that's unlike any other, especially when he illustrates children's books.
The book is written in various stanza forms: haikus, décimas, tankas, free verse, etc. All well done and with exquisite magic.
I want to share with you the poem that opens the book; it's composed of three haikus, the Japanese national stanza.
THE ETERNAL FOREST
I
They say the forest
writes its secrets
on the leaves.
II
A surprise:
the tree of my dream
sings in the afternoon.

Time sleeps
on the highest branch
of the flamboyant tree.
As you can see, the book begins with the tenderness children find in nature when morning begins and the sun awakens the lazy dewdrops, which have forgotten that the night is a princess to be enjoyed until dawn.

Qué libro tan hermoso.
Hola amigos, disculpen es que aún no salgo de las páginas de este libro, me tiene verdaderamente atrapada. Es un libro de poesía, el que obtuvo el premio Principito en el año 2014 y que viera la luz en el 2015.
Las criaturas del silencio es un libro que atrapa desde el primer poema, incluso, cuando llegas al final de la última lectura no quieres cerrarlo, es necesario mantenerlo en las manos, porque sientes que se te olvidó algo o que por arte de magia saldrán nuevos textos en él.
Así de mágica es la lectura que sugiere siempre la escritora habanera Elaine Vilar Madruga. Aunque es muy joven ya tiene en su haber muchos premios y reconocimientos, además es una escritora constante. Todo el tiempo está escribiendo y no solo hace poesía para niños, también la escribe para adultos y cuentos, novelas, obras de teatro para todas las edades.
Elaine se mueve en la literatura como los duendes sobre la naturaleza, sin mencionar que en la poesía lo hace en cualquier estrofa sin temor a equivocarse. Tiene muchísimos libros publicados, el primer libro que tuvo mi niño, fue un libro de Elaine. Es muy hábil para atrapar a los lectores cualquiera que sea su edad.
El equipo de trabajo de Las criaturas del silencio hizo un trabajo bonito. En la edición estuvo el grande que fue Antonio Gutiérrez, quien además era un excelente escritor para niños, ya vimos un libro de él anteriormente y varios que él editara. Estoy segura que no pasó trabajo en la edición ya que Elaine trabaja muy limpio cuando escribe.
Las ilustraciones son de Junior Fernández, excelente escritor y editor además de artista de la plástica. Con un estilo propio y que no se parece a ningún otro, sobre todo cuando ilustra libros para niños.
El libro está escrito en varias formas estróficas, haikus, décimas, tankas, versos libres, etc… Todas bien hechas y con una magia exquisita.
Quiero compartirles el poema que abre el libro, está compuesto por tres haikus, la estrofa nacional japonesa.
EL BOSQUE ETERNO
I
Dicen que el bosque
escribe sus secretos
sobre las hojas.
II
Una sorpresa:
el árbol de mi sueño
canta en la tarde.
III
El tiempo duerme
en la rama más alta
del framboyán.
Como pueden ver, el libro comienza con la ternura con la que los niños encuentran en la naturaleza cuando comienza la mañana y el sol despierta las gotas de rocío que quedaron perezosas y se les olvido que la noche es una princesa para disfrutarla hasta el amanecer.

LO QUE VEO
La primavera:

Puede que pronto crezca

Como podemos leer, Elaine se hace de ternura, mejor dicho, es ternura. El jurado integrado por Enrique Pérez Díaz, Eldys Baratute y Rubén Rodríguez, fueron muy acertados al escoger este libro como premio Principito. Yo agradezco cada poema en este libro.
