Hello to all my dear friends of @plantpower(vegan). It is a pleasure and pleasure to be sharing a delicious and nutritious recipe that I prepared this weekend. A breakfast, accompanied by some very striking and exquisite arepas.
This Saturday I woke up very lively and enthusiastic, so I decided to prepare something different for breakfast, inas arepas nutritious and with lots of fiber. Checking my fridge, I noticed the beautiful beets that caught my attention, I wanted to prepare a special flavor, so I chose onions. These gave it softness and flavor. To add more softness and fiber; I added as a special ingredient flax seeds, previously ground.
Between colors, softness and flavors these arepas turned out to be a spectacle, I loved them. It is also important to highlight the contribution of fiber, nutrients and wonderful properties of the ingredients selected and combined on this occasion. My whole family liked them 👪. I hope you can prepare and enjoy this great recipe. The amounts of ingredients yielded for 6 medium arepas.

INGREDIENTS
- 2 medium beets
- 3 medium onions
- 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
- 1 1/2 cup corn flour
- 1 1/2 cups water
- Salt
- Olive oil
PREPARATION
The first thing I did was to heat some water (6 tablespoons) and once hot, I added the flaxseed. I lowered the heat and let it hydrate for 15 minutes. On the other hand, I peeled and cut the beets into pieces and added them to the blender. In the same way, I peeled and chopped the onion and added it to the blender with the beets. Finally I added the water and salt.

I processed until a homogeneous mixture was obtained. Once ready, I added the contents to a bowl with the hydrated flaxseed, mixing the ingredients. Finally, I added the corn flour and mixed until a smooth dough was formed. I let it rest for ten minutes and made 6 balls to form the arepas. I cooked them one by one in a small frying pan.

To cook them I took a frying pan and put it over medium low heat with a little bit of oil so that the arepas would not stick, leaving it for 3 minutes on each side. Then low heat for three more minutes on each side. The arepas were thin and had a crunchy layer. I loved this combination of ingredients, texture and flavor. Hola a todos mis queridos amigos de @plantpower(vegan). Es un gusto y placer estar compartiendo una deliciosa y nutritiva receta que preparé este fin de semana. Un desayuno, acompañado de unas arepas muy llamativas y exquisitas.
Este sábado me desperté muy animada y entusiasmada, por lo que decidí preparar algo diferente de desayuno, inas arepas nutritivas y con mucha fibra. Revisando mi nevera, pude darme cuenta de las hermosas remolachas que llamaron mi atención, quise preparar darle un sabor especial, por lo que elegí cebollas. Estas le dieron suavidad y sabor. Para añadir más suavidad y fibra; agregué como ingrediente especial semillas de linaza, previamente molidas.
Entre colores, suavidad y sabores éstas arepas resultaron ser un espectáculo, me encantaron. Asimismo, es importante resaltar el aporte de fibra, nutrientes y maravillosas propiedades de los ingredientes seleccionados y combinados en esta ocasión. Les gustó a toda mi familia 👪. Espero que ustedes puedan preparar y disfrutar esta estupenda receta. Las cantidades de ingredientes rindieron para 6 arepas medianas.
INGREDIENTES
• 2 remolachas medianas
• 3 cebollas mediana
• 2 cuchadas de linaza molida
• 1 1/2 taza de harina de maiz
• 1 1/2 de agua
• Sal
• Aceite de Oliva
PREPARACIÓN Lo primero que realicé fué calentar un poco de agua (6 cucharadas) y una vez caliente, agregué la linaza. Bajé el fuego y dejé hidratando por 15 minutos. Por otro lado, pelé, corté en trozos la remolacha y agregué a la licuadora. De la misma forma, pele, corté la cebolla y agregué a la licuadora con la remolacha. Por último agregué el agua y la sal.
Llevé a procesar hasta lograr una mezcla homogénea. Una vez lista agregué el contenido a un recipiente junto a la linaza hidratada, mezclando los ingredientes. Por último , agregué la harina de maíz y mezclé hasta lograr una masa suave. Dejé reposar por diez minutos y realicé 6 bolitas para luego formar las arepas. Fuí cocinando una a una en un sartén pequeño.
Para cocinarlas tomé una sartén lo llevé a fuego medio bajo con un chorito de aceite para que no se pegara la arepa, dejando por 3 minutos por cada lado. Después fuego bajo por tres minutos más por cada lado. La arepas las hice delgadas y quedaron con una capa crujiente. Me encantó esta combinación de ingredientes, textura y sabor.
