As the sun blazes overhead and the temperatures rise, there's nothing quite like sipping on something that refreshes both your body and spirit. That's where this recipe comes into play – a vegan frozen cherry smoothie that's as delightful as it is cooling. 🍒
Being vegan doesn't mean missing out on rich, indulgent flavors. Whether you're a seasoned vegan or simply curious about exploring a dairy-free delight, this recipe is here to treat your taste buds. 🍧
The best part? No complicated techniques or hard-to-find ingredients. It's a straightforward, hassle-free process that guarantees you a fantastic frozen treat in no time. 😁
The only hard part of this recipe is making frozen cherries if you are making them from scratch. Taking out the pits can be very frustrating but you can skip this frustration if you don't have fresh cherries and choose to buy pre-frozen ones 😁
Cherries aren't just delicious; they're packed with goodness too. These vibrant little fruits are bursting with antioxidants, which means they're like tiny warriors fighting to keep your body healthy. They're known to be great for your heart, skin, and even help ease muscle soreness. Plus, they bring a natural sweetness that makes this smoothie a treat without any added sugar. It's a win-win situation – a delightful taste and a nutritious boost.
You can add any other additional fruit to the smoothie. And if you like chocolate and cherry combination, feel free to add some cacao or dark chocolate to the smoothie as well. 🍫
Feel free to also add any seeds like chia seeds, hemp seeds, maca powder, some nuts or anything else to make the smoothie even more nutritional!
You will need:
For 1 serving
- 160 g. frozen pitted cherries
- 1 well-ripe banana
- 130 ml. unsweetened almond milk (or other plant-based milk)
- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter (almond or cashew butter would work too)
Preparation
- If you are preparing frozen cherries yourself - remove the pits from cherries and then freeze them overnight. To remove the pits - this can be done with a special pitting tool or, if you don't have one, you can push the pits out with a simple wooden skewer, or, if the cherries are larger, with a straw or other means.
- Add all the ingredients into a container where you will blend the smoothie.
- Blend all the ingredients until smooth. I use hand blender but you can use food processor or whatever you have at hand.
Enjoy!
