Hello friends of Hive and this Collectors family, it's a pleasure to be with you after a while to bring you a new collection. This small delivery consists of a few boxes containing (some) capsules for making coffee in the machine, in this case a Nespresso, which I'll show you through gifs.
Here in Colombia, coffee is part of everyday life, it's like a ritual for conversations or meetings, considering that Colombian coffee is among the best in the world, and I can confirm this because I've become a coffee lover for a couple of years now. The brands you'll see below are some of the best on the market (the only one missing was Nescafé, hehe). I'll tell you a little about their flavors, but I'll focus more on the box designs and their contents. With this preamble, I invite you to get comfortable with a good cup of coffee and join me. Hola amigos de Hive y de esta familia de Collectors, es un placer para mi estar con ustedes luego de un tiempo para traerles un nuevo contenido de colección; esta pequeña entrega consta de unas cajas que contienen (algunas) cápsulas para hacer café en la máquina, en este caso una Nespresso que les mostraré mediante gifs.
Aquí en Colombia el café es parte del día a día, es como un ritual para las conversas o para las reuniones, eso teniendo en cuenta que el café colombiano es de los mejores del mundo y lo confirmo ya que desde un par de años para acá, me he vuelto amante del café. Las marcas que verán a continuación, son de las mejores en el mercado (solo me faltó Nescafé jeje), les hablaré un poco de sus sabores pero me centraré más en los diseños de las cajas y sus contenidos. We start with the Juan Valdez brand and its mildest-tasting coffee capsules. The design of this box pays tribute to Colombian coffee makers through a colorful illustration, highlighting red and blue, two colors that denote passion, love, intensity, and at the same time, calm. Inside the box are the capsule compartments and a note, which I'll show you in the following photos.
Iniciamos con la marca Juan Valdez y su café en cápsulas más suave en cuanto a sabor; el diseño de esta caja nos muestra un homenaje a la mujer cafetera colombiana mediante una ilustración bien colorida, resaltando el rojo y el azul, dos colores que denotan pasión, amor, intensidad y a la vez calma. Dentro de la caja están los compartimientos de las cápsulas y un escrito los cuales les mostraré más abajo en las siguientes fotografías.
This next box from the same brand features a man and woman coffee grower in soft colors, while coffee beans in more intense colors can be seen around them, with the burgundy predominating in the box. This coffee has a balanced flavor; it's not overly bitter, and the taste is very pleasant, and it's highly recommended for those who don't like the strong taste of coffee.
Esta siguiente caja de la misma marca nos muestra en su diseño al hombre y a la mujer caficultora en unos colores suaves mientras a su alrededor se pueden apreciar granos de café en colores más intensos, predominando el vinotinto en la caja. Este café tiene un sabor balanceado, no es muy amargo, el sabor es muy agradable y muy recomendado para quienes no les gusta el sabor fuerte del café.
We've reached my favorite box because it has the coffee flavor I like. Here, the green color predominates, and this version is the strongest and perfectly captures the full flavor spectrum of the coffee bean. This intense flavor is only for true coffee lovers. In fact, I recently purchased this box, so below you can clearly see the capsule design and the quantity in the box. These three boxes you've seen are very popular here in Colombia; they cost the same amount, approximately $5 if you switch. The important thing is knowing how to make them last a week.
I'll leave you with the English translation of what the box says inside. I'm referring to the writing you can see in the photo below. It reads like this: "Each Juan Valdez coffee is the result of the work of more than 540.000 Colombian coffee-growing families who, with their effort and dedication, have given life to this wonderful product. A percentage of Juan Valdez brand sales are reinvested in the well-being of Colombian coffee growers."
Llegamos a mi caja favorita por tener el sabor que me gusta de café. Aquí el verde predomina y es que esta versión es la más fuerte y se siente a la perfección todo el espectro de sabor del grano de café; este sabor intenso es solo para verdaderos coffee lovers, de hecho esta caja la compré recientemente, por eso a continuación podrán apreciar muy bien el diseño de la cápsula y la cantidad que trae la caja. Estas 3 cajas que han visto son muy vendidas aquí en Colombia, tienen el mismo costo, aproximadamente 5 dólares si hacemos el cambio, lo importante es saberlas rendir para una semana.
El escrito que está dentro de la caja dice lo siguiente: "Cada café Juan Valdez es el resultado del trabajo de más de 54.000 familias caficultoras colombianas que, con su esfuerzo y dedicación, han dado vida a este maravilloso producto. Un porcentaje de las ventas de la marca Juan Valdez es reinvertido en el bienestar de los caficultores colombianos."
This brand surprised me a lot; I hadn't really heard of it, and my dad and I were curious to try it. I really like the color and design of the box; it's simple yet very elegant thanks to the combination of black, brown, and gold. The flavor is balanced, and the best part is that it has hints of chocolate, which gives the coffee a unique, delicious flavor. It comes with 10 coffee capsules; the only difference from the previous boxes is that it doesn't have a compartment for each capsule; they come individually.
Esta marca me sorprendió mucho; realmente no la conocía y a mi papá y a mi nos dio curiosidad probarla. Me gusta mucho el color y diseño de la caja, es sobrio pero muy elegante por la mezcla del negro con el marrón y dorado. El sabor es balanceado y lo mejor es que tiene trazos de chocolate lo que le da un sabor particular al café el cual es muy delicioso. Trae 10 cápsulas de café, lo único distinto a las cajas anteriores es que no tiene compartimiento para cada cápsula, es decir, vienen sueltas.
We bought this box by mistake. We wanted one, but we brought the one with the large capsules. These aren't for the machine we have. However, I wanted to keep it because I can still extract the coffee from each capsule and prepare my drink. This brand is one of the best I've tried; this coffee has a strong but not overpowering flavor. It's not acidic; I feel like it has a very well-balanced flavor and is also very mature, as it's among the strong flavors, one of the most palatable, even for beginners in the world of coffee.
This post may be part of the coffee community, but I mainly wanted to show you the boxes whose art I find beautiful and which I've been collecting. As I try more brands and collect their boxes, I'll bring them to you in future installments so you can visually taste the best of Colombian coffee with me. Esta caja la compramos por error, queríamos una, pero trajimos la de cápsulas grandes, éstas no son para la máquina que tenemos, sin embargo quise conservarla porque igual extraigo el café de cada cápsula y preparo mi bebida. Esta marca es de las mejores que he probado; este café tiene un sabor fuerte pero no exagerado. No es ácido, siento que tiene muy bien equilibrado el sabor y la vez muy maduro porque es dentro de los sabores fuertes, uno de los más pasables incluso para principiantes en el mundo del café.
Posiblemente este post tenga lugar en la comunidad de café, pero quise mostrarles principalmente las cajas cuyo arte me parece hermoso y las cuales he ido coleccionando. En la medida que pruebe más marcas y coleccione sus cajas, se las traeré en futuras entregas para que degusten visualmente conmigo lo mejor del café colombiano.
