Good Day folks.
i first started attempting to learn #Bulgarian about 6 years ago. i've tried i think 3 different apps, but never persevered & barely learned anything. However, just over a week ago i came across a Free & Open Source app (via #Accrescent app store for Android apps) called #Qlango). You can use the app for free (up to 3 lessons per day - or games as they call them) or if you want more than three per day you can pay to upgrade & get unlimited lessons per day. There are also some other extra features if you upgrade.
There are apps for Android & Apple and a Web App so you can use on a computer.
After doing the first 3 lessons (using Android app), i was very impressed by the Qlango product so i chose to upgrade. i chose the lifetime option (actually 100 years - let's see if this body lives another 100 years :-).

i used a coupon code which gave me a 40% discount so it cost me 63 Euros (usual price 90 Euros). That's for 100 years and includes ANY of the (more than 60) languages they offer. A bargain i think. When i've got to grips with Bulgarian, i expect i'll use it to improve my beginner/intermediate knowledge of French, Turkish & Spanish.
Note. If you do choose to upgrade, it's better for a couple of reasons to sign up via the Qlango website (as opposed to upgrading within the app). One reason is that Google or Apple don't get a commission that way, so the Developer(s) will earn more for their excellent work. The second reason is that you won't be supporting these EVIL centralised corporations.
i virtually always avoid using Google Play (and all Google products) as i don't want them to steal my data or even more importantly i don't want to support their actions which contibute to the #massmurder of humanity (by censorship of life-saving information - and other actions).
As i said earlier, Qlango calls the lessons "games", which is because they have what they call the Wall of Fame, which shows how many lessons/games other users have played.
You can choose to see the Wall of Fame by:
days, weeks, months, years or all time,
and you can choose to see the Wall of fame by the language you are learning from (English in my case) to the language you are learning (Bulgarian in my case),
or all users learning the same language you are, from whatever language you already know. Ok, maybe i've not described that very well, so here's a couple of screenshots showing my current position for today & for this week.
Today: This shows all users learning Bulgarian (from any language)
Week: Again it's for all users learning Bulgarian. The week begins on Monday so it's for just two days:
i just wrote to the developer & suggested he create a community here on Hive (and/or Blurt, which i'm testing at the moment) so users can communicate between each other to create friendly competition.
Let's see if Marko is interested & if i can onboard him (and possibly hundreds or even thousands of Qlango users).
Well, i guess that's enough. i hope i've encouraged you to give Qlango a try to #learnalanguage. Please let me know if you do.
Peace & Love
Atma
Ps. Remember, Google are Evil, avoid them like the plague :-)
