Do you like animals?Why or Why not?

Do you have or have you ever had a pet?

Well i have never had a pet of my own before but will someday. i have had several oppurtunities of playing with friends pet especially dog and cat.

Are animals respected or looked down upon in your culture?

well there are animals respected and there are animals that are looked down upon in my culture.

HORSE is respected in my culture for several reasons. the horse is seen to be one of the old means of transportation in the olden days and who ever has it the in Nigeria is considered to be rich. the Horse is also respected because it carries a sign of royalty because beack in the days kings rode on then to travel far. till today horse is still use for traditional and even millitary ceremony.
DOGS are also given their own respect for their vigilance. some people rear dogs today to protect their environment especially when the are not around or at night when the are fast asleep. Hunters make use of dogs when hunting the dogs are trained to be very active. same ways federal agencies like the NDLEA (National Drug Law Enforcement Agency) in Nigeria make use of trained dogs to detect hard drugs same way the police and millitary make use of dogs.
Just as some dogs are respected some are also looked down upon.
OWL Is one bird that has been tagged to be evil in the Nigeria culture due to the kind of eyes it has and the ways it turns its neck to stare at people. when ever there is the presence of a Owl people are quick to drive it away especially the OVER RELIGIOUS PEOPLE to sum it up it is seen a witch.
CATS are also taken to be evil due to the ways their eyes are at night and it is seen it have a close relationship with the evil ones. though many Nigerians today keep cats as pet but still people still look down upon it as an animal that id possessed.

What wild animals can be found where you live(or in your hometown)?

currently i work in a location that is out of town and surrounded by bushes so there wild animals around. there are bush dogs, wild cats, snakes and crocodile.

Are any animsals considered good luck or bad luck in your culture?

well like i said the owl bird is considered a bad luck.
for good luck the white Turtle Dove is seen to be good luck basically for it purity.

Do any animals have a specific meaning in your culture?

well well well yap!. the horse is seen as royalty and till today they are used by the royalty during festivals and other celebrations. the horse is seen to be fast. the leopard signifies aggression and ferocity, elephants signifies strenght and the tortise also signifies wiseness.

What animal do you feel most attracted or connected to?

Dog is one animals i feel attracted to. dogs are taken to be pet by most pet owners than any other animals. for its friendly nature and also the company it keeps with humans.

What is the most beautiful relationship you've seen between a human and an animal?

i think the most beautiful relationship i have seen between a human and an animal is between dogs and human. dogs are very good companions. i have seen videos where dogs have to assist the sick owner out in carrying out the little they can and also guiding babies when ever their owner is not around. there are news of people from some part of the world marrying thier dogs because the dog was more loyal and trustworthy than the people around them.

What was your best experience with an animal?

i have not own any pet of my own for now so there is probably no best experience but whenever i play with dogs and some other animals that behaves friendly it become more used to then.
