Hey, Hive fam! It's us, the CBRS crew, back with #Podcast episode 42, and we’re pumped to share what went down in the studio! This episode was a whirlwind of Hive Blockchain goodness, from our first-ever X Spaces event to community updates and some awesome giveaways. Let’s break it down in simple terms, straight from us to you.
Kicking Off with X Spaces
We’re super excited to announce our first X Spaces event, happening today (5th of August)! We’re bringing together two awesome guests: Boy Mass from the Polana Network and Jam Protocol, and @starkerz, a familiar face from @threespeak and @thedistriator. Why’s this a big deal? We’re getting folks from different blockchains to chat, find common ground, and explore how we can collaborate and work together on projects.
Boy Mass has some cool connections to Hive’s history (like, Dan Larimer, who created Steemit, which evolved into Hive), and we think there’s huge potential for Hive to get involved in his projects. @starkerz is bringing the Hive energy, and we can’t wait to see what ideas spark when these two minds meet. So, join us on X at 7 PM UTC to catch the convo. Tust us, it’s gonna be epic!

Oh, and before that, we’re hanging out on #hivethrive at 6 PM UTC on the main Hive Discord server. Come ask us questions, vibe with the community, and get ready for the X Spaces right after. Let’s bring the Hive crew to X!
Hive Echo: Spreading the Word
We also dove into @Hive-Echo, the initiative to boost Hive’s visibility. This week, we had a fun “out-of-the-box” call to action. @starkerz spotted a post by Bruce Fenton, a big name in crypto, who was looking for a stablecoin not tied to fiat. We were like, “Yo, that’s #HBD!” Our community jumped in, flooding his post with comments about why Hive’s HBD is the perfect fit. Bruce later said he was joking about needing a stablecoin, but we know he’s still curious, so we’re not giving up!
@Lordbutterfly had a brilliant idea: write articles explaining why HBD is the best stablecoin and post them as comments on Bruce’s post. He kicked off a prize pool with 100 HBD, and @starkerz doubled it to 200 HBD! Tons of Hiveans stepped up, and now Lordbutterfly’s got some serious reading to do (50-60 articles, whew!). Big thanks to both of them for sparking this movement.
We also noticed some Hiveans posting about Hive on X but forgetting hashtags like #Hive or $HBD. Guys, those hashtags are key! They help your posts pop up on people’s feeds and even get noticed on platforms like CoinMarketCap. So, keep posting, tag #Hive, $Hive, or $HBD, and let’s get the word out. And remember, the more you post, the better your chances of winning 10 Hive in our weekly giveaways!
Spinning the Wheel: Giveaway Time!
Speaking of giveaways, we spun the wheel for our weekly 10 Hive prizes, supported by @threespeak. Congrats to our winners:
You guys are killing it! Keep engaging, and you might be next.
Splinterlands and Skate Hive: Community Power
@Splinterlands dropped a new mode called #Frontier, and their Golden Pickle event is a steal—tickets are around 50 cents, with a chance to win the golden pickle.
SkateHive Updates
Then there’s @SkateHive, a community we’re obsessed with. These guys are building their own thing, connecting different blockchains, and even integrating wallets like Ethereum’s. They’ve got a dope map for skate spots, a magazine mode, and even airdrops for Hive tokens or whitelisted ERC-20 tokens. Plus, they’re working on an article to explain it all—check their stuff out! Oh wait, here it is:
Open with Ecency
Open with PeakD
Skate Hive’s a perfect example of how small communities can grow big on Hive by building bridges and supporting each other.
Hive Fest and World Mapping Adventure
@HiveFest is coming up, and the first eight speakers are announced: @alessandrawhite, @vaultec, @techcoderx, @crimsonclad, @detlev, @stoodkev, @blocktrades and @clayboyn. More are on the way, and we’re hoping for some non-Hive speakers to mix things up and show the world what Web3 can do. To score free Hive Fest tickets, join the @WorldMappin Adventure Challenge. Post about an adventure with pics or videos, finnish specific tasks and rack up tickets for the draw. It’s a fun way to save some HBD or HIVE if you are planning to go to Hivefest!
Onboarding Businesses: A Few Hiccups
We also talked about onboarding businesses to Hive’s ecosystem, like using HBD for payments. We ran into some issues—like business owners not being able to edit their listings (pics, descriptions, etc.). We’re wondering if they need to become trusted guides to manage their stuff or if there’s a simpler way. Also, how do customers know they’re paying with HBD to get cashback? Is it automatic, or do you need to post a review with #SpendHBD? We’re a bit confused, so we’re calling on @starkerz to join our podcast and break it down for us (again).
Wrapping Up: Hive Fest in Lithuania?
We’re already dreaming big for next year’s #HiveFest in Lithuania. Our stretch goal? 500 attendees! We’re gathering ideas, talking to folks across Web3, and putting together a solid plan to make it happen. Imagine walking into HiveFest, scanning a QR code, making an account, and diving into the Hive vibe. We’re working hard to get it approved, so stay tuned.
That’s a wrap for episode 42! It was a lightning round, but we probably hit the 30-minute mark anyway (oops). Thanks for tuning in, check us out on YouTube as well to help us hit those watch hours, and join us for X Spaces at 7 PM UTC today with Boy Mass and @starkerz. Got ideas for #Hive-Echo? Tag us on X or hit us up on Discord. Let’s keep the Hive buzzing!
