Keeping the pace, leaving a trace, and making sure that the choice you made will make a difference.
Lately, I was in doubt if I should give it a go or not, asking questions to myself if I'd love the outcome or if should I be disappointed. Along the way, I've seen myself progressing and loving the choices I made. I can now say I have lived the life I once hated before (studying) but there's a change, I am loving and enjoying it. I love the thought that every day I am amazed by myself that I have survived and learned a lot each day.
This time I'll share with you a little of my walk on the journey that I have unlocked. I am not yet there but I'll get there soon. I'll share with you what new skill I try to educate myself.
Welcome to NCII Dressmaking
This is what our station looks like.
Messy yet full of new discovery that needs to be discovered. Puzzling yet challenging when we learn something.
In my perspective, as I saw the sewing machine handling it is simple. But I was wrong. The time we were asked to choose a machine I was in doubt because I thought our instructor would be the one to assign us to a specific machine but we were given freedom and gave us a little time to pick a machine.
Yes, I already picked one, this is what my high-speed machine looks like.
The first step we were asked to do was to let our machine run and get to know how it would run. If we can control it or it just automatically runs after stepping the foot pedal.

After we slowly tried to manage to control the machine we were asked to make a trace on the attached photo below with needles only. As per our instructor, it will help us familiarize ourselves with how we'll be able to put timing and trace the lines perfectly.

These are the works that I submitted to my instructor after so many scratches and tries to make it perfect.
Next with making a trace with needles only, we were tasked to make a trace with thread.

These were my submitted work to our instructor.
The next activity was to make a trace with one of the samples below. Actually, there were types given to us, curved, zigzag straight with locks at the center, and the picture shown below.

I haven't captured a photo of my submitted output because I was in a little bit of a hurry because the bell had rang already.
The last activity that was given to us before we started a new more hassle and tricky activity was to make a rug. The ones that will be bought and seen anywhere cost 1 peso only. We were asked to do it in line with the spiral technique in needling and threading. It is also a way to master the 1,2 technique in stomping the foot pedal. 1,2 technique is one way of controlling the way the machine runs.
Realization 101
There is no easy nor hard in taking a new step. It is always the choices and the decisions that we make that make it hard.
Just like this needle that is set to pin or make a dot to the paper, it is only we who control and will decide how will it run and make a trace.

We are the one who control the foot pedal and the ones who guides the paper on what type of trace we should leave, whether is it good, bad, or a perfect one. It will always be left upon us.
It is never how to start that makes it hard, it is always how we end it with perseverance and goodwill.
