We all have different ideas, about what Self Love is and how we can attain it. For some it is all about taking time for yourself and rewarding yourself with treatments, but it really goes a lot deeper than that. It is also an ongoing journey, one that we need to work on. The first step is definitely self awareness, getting to know yourself and from there accepting the person you have become and where you have come from.
What is important is to embrace this journey, to take the time you need to observe how you interact with yourself and to commit to work on yourself, so that you become the person you wish to be. Self love is all empowering and as we move further into this year, we really do need to stand in our power and know that we all deserve the best in life.
We have so much to learn from one another. So it is important to provide opportunities, in which we can share our experiences and create better understanding as we move forward.

Our cultures have always made women not value ourselves, although that has already changed in recent years, women have revealed themselves and are leaving those paradigms imposed by society.
When the death began to go out to look for work, she was trampled by the words of the men, they were only used for housework and taking care of children. And yet they were mistreated at home as well. That has changed a lot, but there is still much more to change.
Doing Some Soul Searching.

I honestly don't know if I can answer this. I don't have strong convictions and the words ‘self love’ seem to trigger the thoughts ’selfish’ in my brain. However, there's no reason not to do some soul searching and see what's going on in there.
I was initially going to do my usual and chicken out of answering, but I came across someone who just makes me bristle and got to thinking why, then realised the connection to respect of both others and self.

Self Love I believe is the most difficult task in the world, We always tend to become critical of our ownselves, getting hard on ourselves and give our own selves lesser priority. But why so, when we are so good at expressing Love to others why cannot we do the same for our self? Why do we always put others first and then us.

Many things occurred to me while I was reflecting on this question, and among them, the following answer had the most weight:
I think it is the highest form of Love because it requires a lot of self-love to accept yourself as you are, with your virtues and defects, with all your history ... with your successes and failures, and at the same time because from that acceptance and love for yourself, you understand that you are above anything else.

This is an important topic as we always see this thrown around as another "buzz concept". We envision spa days, buying ourselves treats, & getting extra sleep. While all of these things are good & have their place, that isn't all of it...they sometimes come too easy...

Most of us have been brought up with the idea, that putting yourself first, is a selfish act. I personally, have struggled with that for a long time, because in a way we have been told that we are here to serve others. That success, is something that is achieved by meeting the needs and demands of others, it is certainly not something that you achieve by focusing on yourself.

Self love is achieving or actualising a different kind of positivity, likeness and acceptance to our being; what we are, how we are, the things that constitutes our essence and how're we're naturally made up. We live in a world where acceptance is a difficult thing.

This is my response to this week's (reworded*) @abundance.tribe's question of the week 'how to promote one's own personal well-being', which in my interpretation is in the same spirit as the original question.
How to Improve one's well-being
For me, this all about spending time focussing on my physical, mental and spiritual well-being,
I guess a lot of people would include emotional well-being in there too, but thankfully being a bit on the spectrum I'm not afflicted with emotions so that's something I don't need to really worry about, I'm good if I just focus on the other three things above.
