I never knew such a contest in the abundance tribe community was going on until I was scrolling through a friend's page and I found this outstanding contest asking us this simple but important question everyone one of us needs to sit back and do a rethink about.
This week question says;
What is your ideal version of “success”. What does it look like and How can you get there?

Before I define my ideal version of success, I will, first of all, define the dictionary meaning of success
- Oxford Dictionary says; Something which happens as a consequence; the outcome or result.
- The accomplishment of an aim or purpose.
- The good or bad outcome of an undertaking.
- Being successful means the achievement of desired visions and planned goals.
With all being defined by the dictionary, there is something we must know, that there is a thin line between success and failure"
There are various definitions of success just as we've seen the dictionary definition for us but success can only be defined by ourselves and that is only when we understand what success means to us individually. I have heard some people define success as having luxurious cars and a huge mansion, getting married, living in your dream house, having your dream husband, wife, and career which I must say isn't wrong, I have also heard others define success as a life full of joy and happiness with their friends and family which isn't wrong as well.
The media have also made us understand and believe living an extraordinary life, having connections with the top-notch men in the society, having big and different companies, being famous, and having a lot of tangibles is all there is to success.
Like I have said, we define success based on our life experiences and thoughts so, those definitions I just gave are not wrong because the people who define success like that might have seen those things work for them and so, they are not wrong to define success as such.
For me, I think my ideal definition of success is far beyond the above definition I gave. I don't think success is having a lot of money, degrees, good or dream career, big cars, fancy mansions, vacations around the world and the rest which we all know are not bad but success can not be measured by the above because those things will one day go away because they are all made by man. Accidents and incidents happen and those things can either damage, break down, or be taken by the government.
Then this is my question what shall we define success when all those things vanish, leaving us with nothing but ourselves?

Success is the inner peace, the happiness we have from the achievements we've gotten. Success is the lives we've touched through the achievement we have gotten.
For me, success is not about the things we have but it is about the lives we've affected, the people we've better their lives with what we have because when your cars, house, companies go away, you will be left with people around you.
Being wealthy is necessary but being able to touch lives and live a happy life is more important because it is counted as being successful in life.

With all being said, success has to do with the happiness of a person at any stage he or she is and the lives they've been able to affect while walking through the different stages of their lives.
I will be listing a few ways we can get there
Pray
I am using this as my first way because we will need a lot of these to be able to be successful by my definition. Praying will help you know what to do and when to do it at the right time and how to do it.
Prayer will also help us to be happy with whatever we have while we reach out for more. Happiness is a sign of gratitude and if all we do is aim for success and not show signs of gratitude, we all know where that will lead us to.
- Doing what you know how to do best
Like I have said many people gather wealth in a bid to be successful leaving behind or forgetting their passions, visions, goals, and drives in life but when you do what you know to do best and love doing, you will realize that you will be happy at every little step you take to success no matter how irrelevant and unseen it is to others.
- Determination
Imagine the smile on the face of a student who made A's in her examination because she was determined to read and study no matter how difficult the course seems, that's the same smile we will all get on our faces when we succeed because of our determination. We succeed not because success is easy to come by but because we are determined to succeed.
For one to be successful or perhaps, I would say success needs one who is determined no matter what, one who is ready to take a step at a time no matter who challenging that situation looks, one who is ready to stand his or her ground no matter what happens.
Having wealth does not mean success but living happy and affecting lives means success. Although such success may not take years, being conscious of what success means to me helps me in day-to-day dealing with people.
