Today I want you to know the "Fort Santa Rosa de la Eminencia" better known as "El Castillo de Santa Rosa", this is located in the capital of Nueva Esparta State, in La Asuncion, Margarita Island, where I live.

This castle was built to protect the island from pirates and Spaniards during the time of the independence struggles.its access can be through a road or steep stairway.dating from the fifteenth century,was declared a National Historic Monument in 1865.it remains standing despite the passage of time,has been subject to some repairs always taking care to maintain its original charm.

El castillo posee un amplio patio donde puedes apreciar viejos cañones y armamento propio de la época .Puedes apreciar la sala de armas y el calabozo donde la heroína Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi,esposa del General Juan Bautista Arismendi estuvo prisionera.Son muy conocidas las historias en torno a esta ,su sacrificio y apoyo a la lucha por la independencia.

Algo que nos atrae es la vista panorámica que podemos apreciar de la Asunción y sus alrededores,es única ,como todos los castillos tiene un encanto, a mi parecer cada piedra ,cada detalle cuenta una historia.Uno puede recrear facilmente escenas de batallas,de Luisa Cáceres altiva defendiendo sus ideales ,podemos imaginar su sufrimiento al perder su hija por ser victima de tantas humillaciones y maltratos.
Something that attracts us is the panoramic view that we can appreciate of the Asunción and its surroundings, it is unique, like all castles it has a charm, in my opinion every stone, every detail tells a story, one can easily recreate scenes of battles, of Luisa Cáceres haughty defending her ideals, we can imagine her suffering when she lost her daughter for being a victim of so many humiliations and mistreatments.

Los Monumentos Históricos son un gran legado para las generaciones,este castillo ha resistido por siglos,es un espacio de respeto,cuando entras en el ,se siente una calma,pero en sus espacios ocurrieron hechos que dejaron huellas, abominables y repudiados ,pero así es la historia,llena de sucesos,leyendas,derrotas y triunfos que nos ayudan a entenderla y valorarla.
