Yesterday was yet another important day in the history of Nepal. One month before it came with proposal to publish new map of Nepal that shows disputed territory which were Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura. India without any talk with Nepal inaugurated the new road that connects to Mansarovar in Tibet, China claiming Nepalese territory to be their.
Yesterday, the proposal was supported by majority in the constitution house to put the newly published map in the National Emblem of Nepal. On March 4, 1816 a treaty was signed between Nepal and East India Company (It was operation of British to extend their kingdom in India and was solely under their control). Nepal had to surrended much of its territory to East Indian Company and it was solely mentioned their that those disputed territories belong to Nepal.
Now, there would be going diplomatic talk with Indian government about the new map and Nepal had clear evidence that those territories belong to them. A signed treaty is a treaty. If India do not want to consider that treaty signed in 1816, then they would have to give Nepal back their territories that were confiscated while signing treaty. I think that takes up to Teesta, India. If they want to support the treaty, then they have to welcome Nepal's new map.
