Born in Calabria (Italy) in 1966, moved to Ravenna and then to Bologna where I currently live...
I asked for my first camera as a promotion gift for eighth grade, with which I was already thinking of immortalizing unknown worlds. I began to follow more assiduously by writing to a photography site whose members were professionals and amateurs... For every genre of my interest I have always "tormented" those I considered the best with comments and requests for techniques and information... and for each of them it was then reading books after books... documenting myself through tutorials on the internet... everywhere ..and then the tests..whole Sundays closed in the kitchen to test light painting or macro drops. However, the genre that attracted me and continues to attract me was Street and Portrait...but I never tried my hand at both genres...I felt unprepared and almost felt a form of reverence....
Recently, however, in my latest trips to Nepal, the camera and the portraits of children and local people have found ample space and satisfaction... the colors and faces of those people amaze me every time.
The common denominator of my photographs, I have always been told, is the low key light and a melancholy vein that is denoted by the colors and the light... I always choose carefully, even on colorful subjects such as flowers, light and tones to dedicate to him. As I always say: "The most beautiful photo is the one I didn't take"... but in many cases I was lucky to be there and to be able to capture unrepeatable moments, which, for me, is photography! A unique passion..that like true love, you can let go when needed...because it's always present all the same, and that comes back as soon as you look for.
