What’s God like? What does He look like? There were times when these questions ruled my heart because I want to know who and what my God looks like but I finally got an answer to my question.
God created man in His own image. But is that literal or figurative? Let’s check if the Bible has anything for us.
In the Bible, John 4:23-24 states that; But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
This is what we have to believe. We have to believe and stick to the fact that God is a spirit. That’s what He is. We should debunk every other thing we hear about Him.
Some people give fake descriptions about what God looks like but the truth is that no one has seen God before so we cannot tell what He looks like but in the Bible, it is said that God is a spirit so we should stick to that.
Genesis 1:26 states that; And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
What likeness does it mean here? Is this speech figurative or literal? Let’s see. It is said that the likeness of God is righteousness and God created us to be righteous too.
So, that was a figurative meaning and not a literal one.
