Good day to y'all today the 24th of April,2021 This is my response to the above question.
From brother Elis teachings, the word "spirit" was used instead of "prophet" because every prophet of God is known by the spirit in them. Matt 7:16-20kjv: " Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit" the word "fruit" there is synonymous to the word "spirit".
Firstly who is a prophet:
A prophet is one who speaks, teach or prophesy by the spirit, and that spirit must only talk about the commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1corin 14:32, 14:37kjv: "And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets; 37. If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord".
Remember brothers that not every spirit is from God, so we would have to watch consciously to know which is of God. 1john 4:1kjv: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world".
How Do we know a " prophet" or a "spirit" that is from God?:
1 john 4:3kjv: "And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world".
You will know by their teachings, anyone who confesses that Jesus Christ is "Flesh" is not of God, but anyone who preaches that Jesus Christ is not "Flesh" but came in flesh is of God.
Heb 10:5kjv: "Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me".
You can see from the scripture that our Lord Jesus is not of this world meaning he is not of " flesh", but he came into the world, he came in "flesh". 1 john 17:16kjv: "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world".
So therefore you will know a true prophet if the Spirit in them confesses that Christ is not of "flesh" but came in "flesh".
