TOPIC: THE CONTENT OF PRAYER.
Bro Eli started by saying the Lord Jesus has a discipline for the way we pray, kneel act and do things.
There is a Right way to go about everything we do.
He said prayer has a content according to the word of God.
Prayer is an important Doctrine of Christ. It must be taken seriously and done in the Right way.
Prayer is not a Narrative. Prayer is simply a Request.
We were advised to Pray Day and Night, consistently and make our reequest known to God not tell stories.
Luke 18:1-8
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Repetitious prayers Also called Novena are unscriptural according to Gods word.
Acts 1:24- 26

If our Prayers must be answered then we must have a pure heart.
We can't just pray, we must first have a pure heart.
For God to hear us, we must obey him first
and cleanse our heart.
Matthew 15:20
These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Everyone praying or that must pray must depart from iniquity.
Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
James 3:6-10
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
In conclusion, God will not answer the prayers of a sinner or wicked person. Our hearts must be in the right position if we must receive answers to our prayers.
Our hearts must be pure towards God and Man and we must depart from iniquity because the Lord knoweth them that are His.
1 peter 3:10-12
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
