There was a singer that sang a song. The lyrics go thus. "Satan, don't attack me, but you can attack another person's child". The first time I heard the song, I was like "why can some human be so cruel". Some people don't care about what happens to others. The only thing that always appeals to them is their self alone. They pray for good things and give no damn about anything that happens to others. They care about their own belly to be filled, without thinking that there are some who never had the opportunity of one square meal. The scripture taught us to show concern and care for one another. Hebrew 10:24
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds
Showing love and doing good to our brothers is one of the doctrines we must follow. In the church, many are poor. Some people come to the church without anything. If you know such people, and God has blessed you, find a way to help others. If they don't have food to eat, feed them. If they have no good clothes and you have more than enough, clothe them. Do anything within your power to care for them. Don't wear the attitude of "I don't care". You need to care, because God has commanded us to show concern for others. In 1 Corinthians 11:22, Paul admonished some people, for eating and drinking to their fill in the church without caring whether their brethren were filled or had nothing
It's a commandment to gather
We must not forsake the gathering of brethren. The gathering of Christians (genuine followers of Christ) was based on something impressive, which is the studying of the word of God. Christians don't gather for the sake of gathering if not to, see ourselves, teach, learn, and show concern to one another, and how to follow his commandments. Hebrew 10:24-25
24. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25. not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching
God really appreciates Christians meeting together. The doctrines of our lord Jesus Christ can only be learnt when we are gathered. For instance, there are many things I've never heard pertaining to the scriptures that I learnt from joining the live programme that showcased Brother Eli, teaching the doctrines of Christ, which is perfectly on point. Without the gathering, I might possibly not have had the opportunity to learn about the do's and don't that the Bible had stated a long time ago
When must we gather
Many churches have their understanding of the scriptures differently. It was clear when the Bible mentioned that false prophets would rise to teach, and mislead people. In fact, those that are not deeply rooted in his words would be confused to derail from the right track. Saturday was named the appropriate day to gather in the house of God according to the Seventh day Adventist church, but the Bible made us understand that we can gather to worship any day, but Sunday is a day set aside and it's the beginning of the week. Saint Luke said "And upon the first day of the week, they gathered, and Paul preached to them. So gathering on Sunday is a doctrine that all Christians must observe
Is the gathering beneficial?
Where two or more are gathered in my name, I'm there, says the Lord. If God is with us, then who can be against us? The gathering of brethren is one of the important doctrines of Jesus Christ. Through gathering, we help our fellow men. We learn, we share the love of God, and help ourselves in many ways. While we are gathered, we sing and give praises to God. One of the joyful activities in life is singing, because it brings joy to the heart. Whenever the Christians are gathered, they all have their psalms. If we can sing for things, like the national flag, animals, and many irrelevant things, why won't we sing for God. The angels sings. The 24 elders, and the four living creatures also sing to God. When Jesus Christ was born, multitudes of angel praised God, singing to him. We are commanded to sing in a gathering. Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God
The scripture made it clear whom to sing to in a gathering. We are to sing to God with Thanksgiving in our heart. Hebrew 13:15
Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name
Thank God for his words. The teachings by Bro Eli is always impactful. Let's all keep following the doctrines of our lord Jesus Christ as we learn everyday and seek God's wisdom
Thanks for reading.
This is ckole the laughing gas.
One love
