The bible has made it known clearly that a time will come when false prophets will arise to teach the people things that are different from the doctrine of Jesus Christ, and truly, we are in the era. We have many churches now with different teachings. Having many churches is not the issue, but the prophets who lie and mislead people are the problem. II Peter 2:1 says
"But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves"
Some people delight in fortifying the things of God because the devil has created a 3 bedroom apartment in their heart where he dwells and uses them to preach what contradicts the will of God. Therefore, we must always seek the truth. We must check for what is good and abstain from those that are evil
God only hear the prayers of the upright.
In the world, we would experience weakness that would look like there's no one to call upon, but we can always call on Jesus. Praying is a commandment of God. He commanded us to pray to him that he will hear us. But the truth is that God doesn't hear all prayers. It's clearly stated in John 9:31
Now we know that God heareth not sinners, but if anyone be a worshiper of God, and doeth his will, him, he heareth
God doesn't hear the prayers of the sinners. No matter how much a sinner prays to God, it's all in vain
Also, God does not hear the prayers of evil doors. According to the book of proverbs 15:8
the sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the lord, but the prayer of the upright is his delight
How do we call upon God the right way?
Many of us pray to God in the wrong way. Making repetition is not what will make God hear us. God is very attentive to his people that even when they pray when there's a storm, he hears them, so making repetition is not a good way of praying. Matthew 6:8 says God already know what we want before we ask him, so God is not deaf or dumb for us to keep repeating prayers. He already knows what we want, and when we ask, he will do it
Also, we need to understand how to pray the right prayers. In the middle of an earthquake, our prayer should not be "God, give us our daily bread". We should pray to God to deliver us. We should always know how to channel our prayer to the right direction by not asking for what doesn't match our situation

Further more, prayer is a private matter between us and God, therefore, should be observed in private. Don't show off your prayers to men, and most importantly, we must kneel down when praying because it's an act of humility. There are instances when one would have to stand and pray, especially when the environment is not conducive to kneel. One can stand and pray when the situation around doesn't make kneeling down comfortable or possible. But when there is nothing hindering that, it's best to kneel while praying
More so, the way we treat our head when praying is also important. A man must not cover his head when praying and a woman must not leave her head open. Man is the head of a woman and a woman must not leave her head open. Just as Jesus is the head of the man and the church, a man must not cover his head when praying. 1 Corinthians 11:7 says "For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, for as much as he's the image of God, but the woman is the glory of man. So man should not cover his head when praying and the woman should have a covering of authority on her head
