In today’s world, the idea of marriage has become more complicated than ever. Some people are young and eager to settle down, while others are much older but still unsure or unwilling to take that step. Heartbreak, failed relationships, and past mistakes have led many to give up on love entirely.
But why is it so difficult to find “the one”?
The first reason is that , they don't see bible as a guide. They rely on feelings, trends, or pressure from society instead of turning to God’s Word. As a result, they end up dating the wrong people over and over again hoping, guessing, and often getting hurt.
Yet, the Bible offers wisdom for choosing the right partner.
Proverbs 19:14 says:
“Houses and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the Lord.”
This verse tells us that while material things can come from family, a prudent spouse comes directly from God. But it’s not just about women being prudent men must be, too. Prudence means being wise, thoughtful, responsible, and godly. Those are the traits to look for.
What makes someone the right one for you isn’t just chemistry or attraction. It’s about character. And what’s prudent for one person may not look exactly the same for someone else. God knows your heart, your personality, and your future. That’s why He is the best matchmaker.
When you find a man or woman who is prudent who fears God, who treats you with kindness and respect, and who helps you grow in your faith then there’s a strong sign that person may be the one God has set aside for you.
Some people meet their life partners early in life. For others, it takes longer. But don’t lose hope. Focus on growing in your relationship with God first, and in His perfect time, He will lead you to the right person.
Wait on the Lord, seek His guidance, and trust His timing
