The last thing God would want for His people is evil. When we begin to experience evil happenings around us it is not for us to presume that God is responsible for it, instead it is for us to be open to the possibility that God we may have drifted away from the presence of God.
When we drift away from God's presence we are likely to experience evil happening around us. The same thing happened with the Israelites. Whenever they drifted away from God's presence they attracted evil to themselves in the sense that their enemies took them to captivity. What they failed to realize is that the only reason why they were able to scale through and not fall into the hands of their enemies was only because God was with them.
Everything good is from one source alone and that source is God.
James 1:17 - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
When it appears that we are surrounded by evil, the wise choice to make is to approach God in humility and seek for His intervention.
2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Most of the things we experience in our present lives are results of our own actions. It all boils down to reaping what we sow. But God in His infinite mercy provided us with a remedy regardless of our mistakes. It all depends on us and the choices we make that determines the outcome.
