Depression is a very critical period in the life of a person. The first thing to know is that depression does not come from God. In God's plan, even in the midst of chaos we still experience joy.
Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
This scripture talk about Nehemiah's instructions to the people who had a heavy heart after hearing a sad news that was capable of putting them in a terrible state of mind. Instead of allowing that to happen he gave them words of encouragement. And most importantly, he let them know that no matter the situation it is the joy of the Lord that strengthens them.
There are definitely times we would be faced with difficult situations but it is out choice to either dwell in them or not. The mistake that people often make is that they decide to dwell in them. This often leads to depression. Whatever the case may be it is not the end of the world, so we should not allow it to stop living our lives.
