Hey family,
I just had to come on here and share something while it’s still fresh. Today, I finally watched War Room; yes, for the very first time. A friend of mine (he’s actually a pastor, but we don’t even make a big deal out of that) mentioned the movie in passing. Said something like, “You’ve never seen War Room? You’ll like it.”
We didn’t plan anything fancy. We were just hanging out and decided to put it on. We grabbed a pack of Texas BBQ sauce Pringles and some leftover buffet food (don’t judge, we were hungry) and settled in.
To be honest, I thought it would just be a chill, maybe slightly cheesy Christian movie; but wow. I didn’t know it would sit so heavily in my spirit like this. War Room isn’t just a movie. It’s a wake-up call. A reminder.
It follows a woman whose marriage is on the edge, and just when you think it’s about to crash, she meets an older woman who shows her how to fight differently; through prayer. Real, intentional, private prayer. The kind that changes atmospheres.
There were so many points in the movie that made me stop and just reflect. Like… when was the last time I really took prayer as seriously as I should? Not just the quick morning “thank you, Lord” before jumping into the day, but the kind of prayer that comes from a deep place?
One particular scene; the one where she prays out loud and takes authority over the enemy in her home; it gave me chills. Not because of the acting, but because of the truth behind it. We really do forget how much power there is in prayer, especially in tough seasons.
I think what made it more special was the fact that both of us were watching it for the first time. We were reacting together, laughing, getting quiet at some parts, even pausing to talk about certain scenes. That’s the kind of connection I love when watching something meaningful.
If you’re reading this and you’ve never seen War Room, I genuinely recommend it. Whether you’re married, single, young, old, there’s something in there for all of us. Especially in a time when it’s easy to try and fix everything ourselves, this movie reminds us to take things back to God in prayer.
And no, it’s not a perfect film; but the message is solid. And honestly, sometimes that’s all we need. Just one message that reaches the heart at the right time.
I feel like someone in the church community here needs to hear this: don’t stop praying. Even if nothing seems to be changing right now. Keep showing up in your quiet time. Keep fighting your battles in the secret place. God sees. He hears.
Thanks for reading. Let me know if you’ve seen the movie too or if it’s still on your watchlist. I’d love to hear what part stayed with you the most.
Blessings always.
