In today’s world, being single is often misunderstood. Many see it as a time of unlimited freedom a chance to do whatever they like without accountability. Sadly, this freedom is sometimes abused. Some single individuals engage in relationships that are not God-honoring, thinking that being unmarried means living without boundaries.
But that shouldn’t be the case especially for a Christian woman.
Being single is not a curse or a label to be ashamed of. This season of life can be full of purpose, growth, and closeness with God. In fact, it is a time that God can use to shape and prepare you for something greater.
The Bible makes a clear distinction between the married and the unmarried.
1 Corinthians 7:34 says:
“The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.”
This verse reminds us that a single woman has a unique opportunity: she is free from the responsibilities of marriage, giving her more time and focus to serve God fully with her whole heart, body, and spirit.
So how should a single Christian woman live her life?
By dedicating herself to The work of God.
study the word, grow in your faith and serve others. Whether through church service, helping the needy, or simply living as a godly example, your life can reflect Christ in powerful ways.
By staying pure in body and in spirit.
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Don’t use your freedom to engage in things that dishonor God, such as fornication or ungodly relationships.
By finding joy in the season you're in.
Marriage is not the goal of life pleasing God is. If you are single, don't let society pressure you into thinking you are incomplete. You are whole in Christ.
This doesn’t mean the desire to marry is wrong. But while you wait, wait well. Live with purpose. Live with holiness. Live with joy.
And in God’s perfect time, if it is His will, He will bring the right partner your way. Until then, make the most of this beautiful season.
