We can all agree that knowing God's will is important in these uncertain times. The evil of the end times has already claimed many lives, and since our fate is uncertain, it is wise to look at God's commandments before death comes.
Brother Eli Soriano helps us discern God's will through his teaching. He explains that just as the Ten Commandments were God's law, Jesus Christ later taught his own commandments when he lived in the world over 2,000 years ago. This teaching of Jesus is what we must follow these days.

By obeying the teachings of Jesus, we are obeying the Father in heaven. Keeping the laws of Jesus is the best way to be on God's side before death. We will all die eventually, as the Bible says, "It appointed unto man once to die, and after that judgement", man must die. But if we obey God's will revealed through Christ, we are able to face death with hope. Brother Eli explains that we can hope for Jesus to resurrect us and we can live with Him in eternally.
Brother Eli also teaches that obedience to the commandments of Jesus can protect us even now in these difficult times. If we sincerely need to understand God's will, following His divine instructions can protect us from the punishments to come or even from the evil of this world. How can this be?
By living in harmony with God's commandments, we demonstrate our faith in Him as our Creator and Ruler over all. When we reveal his righteousness and sovereignty, he acknowledges our obedience and may choose to spare us from trials. Of course, we cannot call for protection as if it were owed to us. But God guarantees that He will protect those who worship Him.
More importantly, following the lessons of Jesus is the only way to salvation. As Brother Eli explains, after death, we will all face the final judgment. If we are found to have obeyed the Lord Jesus Christ on that day, we can be sure of a resurrection to an eternal life. But if not, eternal punishment awaits us. It is therefore important that we dedicate ourselves to learning and living the commandments of Christ while we have time.
So let us be diligent in the study of God's word. In them we discover clear solutions for a lifestyle that is in harmony with the Father's will. When we obey Jesus Christ, we obey our Creator. This ensures that when we die—whether soon or many years from now—our hope can be in Him.
We can die in peace, having the confident that our names are written in the Book of Life because we have kept our faith in Jesus. And we will joyfully greet our Savior when He returns to resurrect the righteous. What a blessing to have access to these teachings. In them the Lord reveals exactly what He requires from us.
May we all think about how we are able to learn more of God's commandments that our Lord has made known to us. Let the need to obey lead us deeper into His presence. When we prioritize knowing and living the lessons of Jesus, we prioritize our eternal future. This is the only way that can save us from the sting of death.
