Here is my comment to the topic" why was Jesus Baptized? Part 2 of 2 as taught by Bro Eli Soriano in the video below
From the previous teaching ie part 1 ,we saw that baptism was an ordinance already written in the bible for jesus to fulfill when je would be on earth. It has already been prophesize by Isaiah that Jesus would be baptized by John the Baptist and it was so.
So, baptism is one of the righteous to be fulfilled by Christ.
Apostle Peter in 1Peter 2:21, admonishes us to follow the examples of Jesus Christ more especially the things he suffered for and not necessarily his work in His divine capacity.
- 1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
We should pay attention more to the things Jesus suffered for on earth ie denying himself sleep for the kingdom sake, tricking long distances to bring the Goodnews to the lost souls.
