I watched Brother Eli Soriano's teaching titled "What Is the Proper Way to Pray?" and I must say, it renewed my hope and helped me this week. I had this one request that had been making me anxious, sad, and unhappy. I was praying, but it felt like God wasn’t hearing me. Simply put, my faith was shaken.
Then I came across this teaching on the proper way to pray. Brother Eli’s explanations and biblical references helped me see prayer differently—as a close, sincere communication with God.
His view on prayer was truly life-transforming. He said, “Prayer is making our requests known unto God,” and emphasized Philippians 4:6-7, which says:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
He encouraged us to pray with thanksgiving. We are not supposed to pray only when we need something, prayer is supposed to be a daily habit of faith, humility, and a good heart. That part really struck me. I sometimes forget to thank God in my prayers; all I focus on is what I want. This verse reminded me that gratitude should come before requests.
The teaching didn’t just improve my prayer life, it helped me understand how to pray better, with biblical references that guided my understanding of what the Holy Scriptures truly teach. This portion, along with Bro. Eli’s explanation, made me realize I hadn’t been praying the right way. My anxiety had taken over, and I forgot the right portion of heart in prayer.
Then he quoted James 1:5-6, which says:
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God… But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.”
That reminded me that when we pray, we need to trust not doubt that God will respond. Bro. Eli explained that faith is the strength of any prayer.
Prayer is not just about asking; it’s about believing that the God we are speaking to listens—and will act according to His will.
After watching the message, I was inspired to pray in faith and leave the rest to God and it worked. I’m so grateful for the clear and truthful message shared by Brother Eli.
