We are to prioritize the need of the brethren. We should seek for the good of our brethren because that is the proof of love. The primary doctrine of the brotherhood is love.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
If will do the will of God, He will never forsake us. On our journey to perfection, we should put on love. It is the love of God that will never forsake us. We will not be perfect if we do not put on love.
St. John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Those that love darkness do not want to approach the light because they do not their deeds to be reproved.
Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Those that are loved by the Lord Jesus is the light.
1 John 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
The person that hate his brother is in darkness. If God dwells in us, we will be rebuked. The more that we stay away from the light, the more difficult to rebuke. We are not to shy away from light
