If you want to deal with or help depressed teens, you have to Convince them that life is worth living, inspite of all those frustrations that they can encounter along the way.
You have to be more concerned about them, give them your atmost affection, because this works in preventing depression in your teens. Show your children that they are loved by you, guide them and watch them closely. If a child who is depressed will feel the love and warmth, the care, of there parents the depression will be relieved. Introduce them to the word of God.
Psalm 34:18 says it well: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Instead of brushing off your teens feelings or trying to “fix” things quickly, we need to really talk with them and show them you care. Sometimes, the help of a counselor, therapist, or doctor might be needed. There are also simple things that can help, like encouraging them to take part in hobbies, spend time with people who lift them up, or even just get outside and move around a bit. Little steps can make a big difference.
