If you are a security guard or police officer or anybody in the armed forces of any nation, your duty is to protect lives and property; that is the first and foremost duty of a security guard or army or navy of any given nation.
In the Bible self defense is not a sin, it is recorded in the Bible that if you are just defending yourself and it happened that you killed a man because of self defense, you are not liable.
If any man accidentally killed someone in defense of his own life, God prepared a place called a place of Refuge. Numbers 35:10-16
10: "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them; when ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan"
11: ”Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares.”
12:"And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the Avenger, that the Manslayer dine not until he stand before the congregation in judgment."
13:"And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge"
14:"Ye shall give three cities on this side, Jodan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Kinan, which shall be cities of refuge.”
15:"These six cities shall be a refuge both for the children of Israel and for the stranger and for the sojourner among them, that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither."
16:"And if he smites him with an instrument of iron so that he die, he is a murderer. The murderer shall purely be put to death."
The Bible explicitly taught us that if you killed any person without the intention of killing him but just to defend yourself; God placed a city of refuge, meaning it’s not a mortal sin to God. You may run and take refuge and wait for the confrontation to prove that you’re innocent; it’s not your intention to kill but in a city of refuge God’s justice dictates that if you kill anybody protecting lives and properties as your duty should be then it is not a grave sin in the sight of God.
