we should observe all things so that we will learn to obey the LORD JESUS.
Genesis 4:3-5 (KJV) And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
offering of sacrifices of praise were given by Cain and his brother Abel but GOD rejected Cain's own because his heart was not pure.
Psalms 50:23 (KJV) Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.
our offerings and our sacrifice of praise are to glorify GOD.
Jeremiah 9:24 (KJV) But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
when we glorify GOD,we acknowledge him and recognize that his is GOD above all.
Psalms 92:1 (KJV) It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
its a good thing to offer sacrifices of praise and also to give thanks unto the LORD our GOD.
Thanks giving is to recognize and acknowledge GOD.
Genesis 4:7 (KJV) If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
for us to give value to our offerings to GOD,our heart must be pure, just like Cain and his brother Abel offered sacrifice of praise to GOD but Cain's own was rejected because he was not pure in his heart but Abel was pure in his heart and GOD accepted Abel's own.
Proverbs 15:8 (KJV) The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
if you are wicked and you offer sacrifices of praise to GOD,it becomes an abomination and GOD hates such sacrifices.
1 John 3:12 (KJV) Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
it wasn't Cain's offerings that were impure but his heart,his works and deeds were not of GOD in any form and was the reason his offerings were rejected.
GOD saw Cain's heart and that of Abel and he knows our heart and what comes out of them.
GOD saw that Cain's heart was dirty and Abel's heart was pure.
no matter how expensive your offering of sacrifices are,GOD wont accept them if your heart is not pure.
