We are all sinners. Even the most holy person on earth has committed sin, and as Christians, we expect God to forgive us or overlook those minor things we do that appear as sin before Him. Since we always expect the forgiveness of God, God, in turn, always expects us to forgive the people who offend us. When we do this, He forgives us as well.
It all sounds funny, but that's how it is, and I got the idea from Brother Eli's teaching.
I once wrote about this some months ago, and watching it again, it appeared so fresh and gave me a deeper insight.
I know there are circumstances where someone will hurt us, and we’ll feel deeply pained and find it very difficult to accept the idea of forgiving the offender. But God is telling us that just the same way we feel hurt, that’s how bad it looks before His sight whenever we do certain things that displease Him. Yet, in all these, He always accepts us back whenever we reach out to Him and ask for forgiveness. So, the channel is simple: forgive your offenders, and it serves as a medium for God to forgive you also.
Does God allow people to do bad things to you?
Yes, He does.
God allows people to wrong you so that you’ll forgive them , and then He will forgive you as well. It sounds unreasonable? I know it seems like a big temptation because you might really get pissed off by the person's act and probably find it very hard to forgive them. But God wants it that way. He wants to forgive us always, and by so doing, He also wants us to forgive always, so that He can forgive us.
I hope as you read this, you'll learn to forgive your offenders and let go of whatsoever hurt they caused you, so that God can forgive you also.
Thanks!
