Greetings brethren, I believe we are all doing absolutely well. I trust you had a wonderful weekend as well. We pray for abundant grace and favor in the new week, and we find ourselves as well. Let me officially welcome you all to my blog once again.
It was such a great privilege to have joined my fellow brethren in one accord as we listened to the unadulterated word of God from our own brother Eli. I was well educated by his preaching and would like to share my reflections.
From the teachings of Brother Eli, I got to understand that God is quick to listen to the prayers of the righteous man. Using the life of Elijah as an example, the Bible made us understand that Elijah was an upright and righteous man who lived among the Isrealists. He was a prophet and a true man of God.
There came a time when sin was all over the place. The wickedness of man was all over the earth, so what this prophet did was to say a prayer to God to invoke His wrath upon these sinners. He made a prayer that, may it not rain, and for 3 and a half years, it did not rain. Just because he was righteous, God listened to his prayers. This people went through severe famine until they began to have a change of heart. Then Elijah prayed for rain, and it did happen. (James 5:16-18)
This shows how powerful the prayers of a righteous person are and how quick they get to the Father, who answers them without any hesitation.
There may come a time when a brother may sin against his fellow brother. The best thing to do is for the sinner to admit that he or she is wrong and confess his sins to the fellow brethren he has sinned against. The Bible makes us understand that the offended should forgive his fellow brother and pray for him. That is, if the sin is one not unto death. This type of sin is not deliberate or intentional. They usually happen as a result of ignorance or simple mistakes. The Bible tells us to forgive and pray for one another if they should confess their sins to another. (John 5:16)
This means it is our obligation to pray for our brethren who commit sin against us and not go around spreading bad rumors about them to others. The household of faith is a family that is supposed to be united as one. There might be a few conflicts and misunderstandings that cause offenses within the family, but it is always good to put everything aside and pray for one another.
This prayer should not be repetitive, because that's not the right way to pray. The Bible says repetitive prayers are prayers in vain. They do not provide any results or answers. (Mathew 6:7)
God knows whatever His children need, so even before a child of God opens his or her mouth to ask for something, God already knows. Hence, there is no need to use vain repetitions of prayers. With just thanksgiving and supplications, we should make our request known to the Father, and He will answer even before we start. (Isaiah 65:24)
In Daniel 6:10, it is seen that even before Daniel begins to pray, God has already sent Angel Gabriel to bring him an answer. That means God already knew what Daniel Praver was going to be about, so even before he started, God sent an Ark Angel to deliver.
This means that prayer is very good and should not depart from the household of faith. The household of God on earth is the church. There is one in heaven, too. That is where Jesus Christ has gone to prepare for the saints, and when He comes the second time, He will resurrect His children and take them there. (John 6:44, 1 Thesalonians 4:16, Ephesians 3:15)
Therefore, once there is the living, there should always be prayer among the household of God, which is the church. And it shall be called the household of Praver for everyone. (Isaiah 56:7)
The Spirit of God dwells in those who are serving Him. So we are the temple of God. The temples made by humans are not where God dwells. It can be made of gold, but God will never dwell there; rather, he dwells in His saints. God dwells in the body of the righteous, who pray in the household of prayer. (1 Corinthians 3:16)
Christ Jesus is the head of the church and the High Priest of God and man. (Hebrews 3:6, Hebrews 10:21)
So now, how do we pray, and with what discipline should we do it?
Prayer should be said in an orderly manner within the household of God. Maintaining order in the household is very important because it is required of the children of God to maintain order in whatever we do. (1 Corinthians 14–40)
How do we maintain this order in the household?
This is where discipline comes in. Discipline is never the same as doctrine. There are more measures put in place to make sure there is order in the household. Therefore, it is very important to adhere to certain disciplines in the church or household so order can be observed.
One of the disciplines to observe in the household is for Evervone to face the east. Facing the East when praying is for us to face where the glory of God manifested. So facing the glory of God when praying will be the best place to face for everyone within the household. This will even keep order in the church since everyone is facing the same direction. (Ezekial 43:2)
It is not even bad to remove our dirty shoes before entering the household of God because even Moses was commanded by God to take off his footwear because where he was standing was the Holy Grounds of God when he encountered God on Mount Sinai. With respect to this, the floor will not be so dirty that those who feel like going on their knees during prayer sections will not get their dresses dirty.
What happens when we pray?
Basically, forgiveness of sin is very essential to every child of God. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Hence, we are to seek forgiveness for sin, as we have also forgiven those who trespass against us. Our Father will also show us mercy by forgiving us.
The provision of a request from our Father is also something a child of God freely receives when he or she prays. God will always provide for the righteous when he asks. All these prayers of the saints will be The provision of what we requested from our Father is also something a child of God freely receives when he or she prays. God will always provide for the righteous when he asks. All these prayers of the saints will be answered when they turn totally from their evil ways.
In conclusion, prayer is very important within the household of faith. It must be said properly and in an orderly manner. That is why it is good to follow a particular discipline to maintain this order. With faith and trust and without doubt, our request should be made known to the Father, and He will answer us. Suicide, drugs, or alcohol is not the solution to the anxieties and troubles, but prayer.
Always remember that God is bigger than all the problems, anxieties, and worries. Just come to Him in prayer.
Shalom, peace be unto you.
