¡Hola a todos! La semana que pasó, fue algo movida. Y es que, hace unos días atrás, las clases presenciales en la universidad de Artes Plásticas, habían sido suspendidas debido a la falta del servicio de agua. Pero no fue por mucho tiempo, los estudiantes, motivados por su deseo de ver clases, se movilizaron y en apenas un par de días, lograron ayudar a solventar el problema. Ahora, no sólo estamos viendo nuestras clases presenciales como estaba pautado, sino que podemos realizar las actividades de la clase de Fundamentos del Dibujo, de la mejor manera. Cosa que me alegra, pues es la única clase práctica que tenemos.

Hi everyone! The week that passed, was somewhat eventful. And it is that, a few days ago, the face-to-face classes at the University of Plastic Arts had been suspended due to the lack of water service. But it was not for long, the students, motivated by their desire to see classes, mobilized and in just a couple of days, they managed to help solve the problem. Now, we are not only seeing our face-to-face classes as scheduled, but we can also carry out the activities of the Fundamentals of Drawing class, in the best way. Which makes me happy, because it is the only practical class we have.

De verdad fue bastante increíble cómo los estudiantes se desplegaron, uniéndose todas las carreras del decanato: Artes, Música, Desarrollo Humano y Psicología, por mantener a flote el cronograma de actividades. La energía que desprenden me hace sentir animada, ya que si ellos pueden esforzarse yo también puedo hacerlo.

It was really quite incredible how the students expanded, joining all the majors of the dean: Arts, Music, Human Development and Psychology, to keep the schedule of activities afloat. The energy they give off makes me feel encouraged, because if they can push themselves I can too.

Es bastante agradable sentarse a dibujar en clase y aunque es por sólo un par de horas, siento que es bastante relajante. Para empezar, estamos haciendo dibujos de bodegones, lo cuales consisten en una composición de varios objetos, los cuales debemos esbozar lo más acertado posible. La primera clase nos enseñaron a cómo cuadrar nuestro dibujo de la mejor manera, aprovechar mejor el espacio y hallar las proporciones de los objetos haciendo usos de figuras geométricas.

It's quite nice to sit and draw in class and even though it's only for a couple of hours, I feel like it's quite relaxing. To begin with, we are making still life drawings, which consist of a composition of several objects, which we must sketch as accurately as possible. The first class taught us how to square our drawing in the best way, make better use of space and find the proportions of objects using geometric figures.

Como somos muchas personas, no todos cabemos en el salón de clases (somos 2 grupos de 40 personas cada uno ja ja) por lo que, algunas veces nos toca a un grupo sacar el caballete afuera del salón. De ésta manera hay más iluminación, aparte de ventilación y una vista agradable del cielo.

As we are many people, we do not all fit in the classroom (we are 2 groups of 40 people each haha) so sometimes it is up to a group to take the easel out of the room. This way there is more lighting, apart from ventilation and a nice view of the sky.

En la residencia he tratado de practicar y de realizar los ejercicios. Aunque, como mi caballete está en mi casa, he tenido que colocar el papel en la pared. No es nada cómodo, pero sólo será temporal je je

In the residence I have tried to practice and perform the exercises. Although, since my easel is in my house, I have had to put the paper on the wall. It is not comfortable at all, but it will only be temporary hehe

Todo esto es bastante nuevo para mí. Estas actividades requieren de bastante práctica para ver una mejoría. Estoy haciendo todo lo posible para hallar el tiempo para cumplir con todo. Al menos siento que no voy tan perdida en el camino, sólo debo obtener mayor precisión y seguridad a la hora de realizar mis trazos.

This is all quite new to me. These activities take a lot of practice to see improvement. I am doing my best to find the time to accomplish everything. At least I feel that I am not so lost on the road, I just have to obtain greater precision and security when making my strokes.
