¡Hola a todos! El día de hoy les quiero comentar sobre la actividad que tuvimos ésta mañana los estudiantes de Artes Plásticas de la UCLA (Barquisimeto-Venezuela), y es que la profesora encargada de impartirnos la materia de Historia del Arte 1, organizó una salida grupal, no exactamente con fines recreativos, pero ciertamente pasamos una mañana diferente.

Hi everyone! Today I want to comment on the activity that the Plastic Arts students of UCLA (Barquisimeto-Venezuela) had this morning, and that is that the teacher in charge of teaching us the Art History 1 subject, organized a group outing, not Exactly for recreational purposes, but we certainly had a different morning.

Resulta que teníamos pautada para el día de hoy una evaluación, más específicamente una exposición, sobre la Prehistoria. Para ello, la profesora nos pidió que nos dividiéramos en 3 grupos de 20 personas cada uno (si, somos muchos ja ja) y a cada grupo le dio uno de los 3 periodos que conforman ésta era: Paleolítico, Mesolítico y Neolítico. La idea era que de cada era correspondiente, debíamos escoger una pieza artística y hablar todo lo referente a ella. A mi grupo le tocó la primera, el Paleolítico y se decidió hablar de la Venus de Willendorf, la cual es una estatuilla hecha de piedra caliza, muy antigua, que fue fabricada en ese tiempo por los primeros hombres. Como material de apoyo, se realizó una maqueta representativa de la estatuilla, al igual que una lámina con un poco de información sobre el tema.

It turns out that we had an evaluation scheduled for today, more specifically an exhibition, on Prehistory. To do this, the teacher asked us to divide ourselves into 3 groups of 20 people each (yes, we are many ha ha) and each group was given one of the 3 periods that make up this era: Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic . The idea was that from each corresponding era, we should choose an artistic piece and talk about everything about it. My group had the first, the Paleolithic, and it was decided to talk about the Venus of Willendorf, which is a very old statuette made of limestone, which was manufactured at that time by the first men. As support material, a representative model of the statuette was made, as well as a sheet with some information on the subject.

Pero, como de un día para otro fueran suspendidas las actividades presenciales en la universidad, la profesora tomó la medida de trasladarnos a otro lugar para realizar la evaluación. Todos estuvieron de acuerdo, pues estaban muy emocionados por salir a un sitio nuevo. Así que llegó el día. Como punto de encuentro, llegamos a la plaza Bolívar y desde allí, nos fuimos a donde se realizarían nuestras exposiciones.

But, as face-to-face activities at the university were suspended from one day to the next, the professor took the measure of moving us to another place to carry out the evaluation. They all agreed, as they were very excited to go somewhere new. So the day came. As a meeting point, we arrived at Bolívar square and from there, we went to where our exhibitions would be held.

Cuando estuvimos la mayoría reunidos, partimos hacia la Concha Acústica, el cual es un lugar icónico de la ciudad (aunque esté medio solo). La verdad, nunca había ido y eso que queda muy cerca de la universidad. El lugar es agradable, con mucha vegetación. Sobra decir que mis compañeros estaban sumamente emocionados por estar allí, porque la vista era agradable.

When most of us were gathered, we left for the Acoustic Shell, which is an iconic place in the city (even if it is half alone). The truth is, I had never been and that is very close to the university. The place is nice, with a lot of vegetation. Needless to say, my colleagues were extremely excited to be there, because the view was nice.

Y ustedes se preguntarán ¿A qué se debe ese nombre tan peculiar? Pues resulta que en una parte del parque, se encuentra una infraestructura enorme en forma de concha de ostra, en la cual solían hacer presentaciones los artistas que venían (no sé si todavía lo hagan, seguramente no). En fin, fue exactamente en ese lugar en el cual nos ubicamos e hicimos nuestras exposiciones.

And you may wonder, what is the reason for that peculiar name? Well, it turns out that in one part of the park, there is a huge infrastructure in the shape of an oyster shell, in which the artists who came used to make presentations (I don't know if they still do, surely not). In short, it was exactly in that place that we located ourselves and made our exhibitions.

Fue muy interesante escuchar las participaciones de mis compañeros y es que, realmente se les notaba el interés sobre el tema. De hecho, se veía que todos se esforzaron porque la actividad se realizara de la mejor manera. Pude echar un vistazo a la reacción de la profesora y debo confesar que la vi muy agradada. Esperemos que todos recibamos una buena nota je je Luego de eso, nos movilizamos afuera del parque, queríamos quedarnos a hacer turismo, pero las condiciones solitarias del parque no nos inspiraban mucha confianza, a pesar de que éramos como 50 personas o más ja ja

It was very interesting to hear the participation of my colleagues and they really showed their interest in the subject. In fact, it was clear that everyone made an effort to make the activity work in the best way possible. I got a glimpse of the teacher's reaction and I must confess that I saw her very pleased. Hopefully we all get a good grade ha ha. After that, we moved outside the park, we wanted to stay for sightseeing, but the solitary conditions of the park did not inspire much confidence, even though we were like 50 people or more ha ha

A pesar de que no pudimos tener la clase en la universidad, como estaba pautado, esta improvisación no sólo nos permitió salir de la rutina, sino que nos afianzó un poco más como grupo. Ya todos andan emocionados por los próximos lugares a la que la profesora de Historia nos pueda llevar a conocer. Sólo espero que las condiciones se den para que sea así je je

Despite the fact that we couldn't have the class at the university, as was scheduled, this improvisation not only allowed us to get out of the routine, but also strengthened us a little more as a group. Everyone is already excited about the next places that the History teacher can take us to know. I just hope that the conditions are met so that it is like that heh heh
