It has become a tradition: for Christmas our kids get fun stuff, for New Year they get a new piece of clothing, knitted - or crocheted - by mom. In the past the four of them unpacked triangular shawls, our daughters got a knitted set with matching sweater and skirt and they all grew out of lots of selfmade sweaters. Up until now they love those presents.
This year I made blue hoodies - partly with reflecting yarn - for our twin boys, a black sparkling sweater for our youngest daughter and a purple-ish sweatdress for the oldest. Knitwear with a thad more emotional value than usual: I used yarn that belonged to my mom, who passed away last May.
The patterns I used? Erm... none. These three different creations created themselves along the way while I was knitting them.
Maybe one day I'll work them patterns out and make them available as free downloads on my website.
And as for this year's New Year presents, they are being worn. 🙂
